gbx, i don't really understand women, but they seem to care about hygiene and getting compliments. also, if they say they don't want anything for their birthday, get them something because they will be disappointed and weird if you actually take them at their word and get them nothing.

a lot of recent clothing purchases have been thrifted from saver's in west warwick. just last weekend, i went to there with $29 in my wallet and walked out with an entire outfit (j. crew black watch tartan sport coat, pink & white button down oxford, navy blue brooks bros. corduroys, chocolate brown knit tie, navy/rose/gold scarf for pocket square). for someone like me who really enjoys mixing patterns, thrift shopping is good times.

i usually only ever shop online when i am looking for some very particular item e.g. browline eyeglasses, stringback driving gloves, tuxedo jacket, floral hoodie -- and for the most part sizing and fit are too important to chance, sight unseen, so i don't do a lot of shopping online.

i'll hit up the nordstrom if i want to shop for a special occassion, like a wedding or a fancy dinner. and then, i get some clothes as gifts. and a good portion of my ties are inherited.
