out of what I've tried: two hits, two misses

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS (dan m), Friday, 16 January 2009 20:41 (sixteen years ago)

of the ones I've tried:

love: World Wide Stout

like: Burton Baton, Raison D’Etre, Immort Ale, Chicory Stout, Old School Barleywine, Liquor de Malt, Indian Brown Ale

eh: Punkin Ale, Pangea, 60 minute IPA, Shelter Pale Ale, Lawnmower, Raison D’Extra

nope: Aprihop, Black & Blue, Fort, 90 minute IPA, 120 Minute IPA(except for a bottle that had mellowed out for a couple years), Midas Touch

Tina Fey's narrative bonsai (I DIED), Friday, 16 January 2009 20:43 (sixteen years ago)

to be fair the article made the dude seem like the lamest guy in the world save gabbneb

judges' mouths too full-up with long, brown bottles to offer a ruling max

eman, Friday, 16 January 2009 20:43 (sixteen years ago)

banned substance (gabbneb), Friday, 16 January 2009 20:44 (sixteen years ago)

8====D ------ ㋡ (max), Friday, 16 January 2009 20:44 (sixteen years ago)

Sapporo is tough because most of the major Japanese beers we drink in the states are brewed in Canada or St. Louis.

I drink it but you can't expect it to be much better than Molson/Budweiser.

You can find brewed in Japan stuff but it's usually super pricy:
Yebisu
Asahi Select
Orion
Hitachino Nest
Koshihikari Echigo Mugishu
etc.

i enjoyed tsing tao, semi-ironically, in college, but we also drank rolling rock then. not that i enjoyed it, i guess.

banned substance (gabbneb), Friday, 16 January 2009 21:05 (sixteen years ago)

I like the 90 minute IPA. I had two others that I didn't like so much.

Waiting for DDB to weigh in tho...

(*゚ー゚)θ L(。・_・) °~ヾ(・ε・ *) (Steve Shasta), Friday, 16 January 2009 21:06 (sixteen years ago)

dogfish head stuff I will pretty much buy on sight

- punkin ale
- pangaea
- midas touch
- PALO SANTO MARRON

there's also a lot I won't ever buy again but any beer drinker can say that about any brewery. And dogfish head is pretty much one-a-day beer anyway, they don't make session dranks, they make weird shit that's fun to try and generally interesting even if it turns out to be barely drinkable after a few sips. still waiting for the inevitable dr. brown's cel-ray team-up, that should be good for a laugh

El Tomboto, Friday, 16 January 2009 21:10 (sixteen years ago)

tombot is into "craft brewers" and refers to them as such

retard?

i think the word you are looking for is "yuppie". or "homo"

Lamp, Friday, 16 January 2009 21:12 (sixteen years ago)

icey you should like craft brew--it's sort of like a way to call a beer a hipster

Mr. Que, Friday, 16 January 2009 21:12 (sixteen years ago)

there are way, way worse craft brewers than dogfish head. at least they are trying stuff and not just being like look how many IBUs our mega fuckin badass IPA has!1!11!!!

i like indian brown, 60 min ipa, and palo santo marron a whole lot. 90 and 120 ipas are gnarly.

THE HIPSTER DILEMMA (call all destroyer), Friday, 16 January 2009 21:14 (sixteen years ago)

truthfully you guys am I all three of those things, a yuppie, a homo and a retard

El Tomboto, Friday, 16 January 2009 21:14 (sixteen years ago)

^^hipster trifecta

Mr. Que, Friday, 16 January 2009 21:15 (sixteen years ago)

btw i love the 90 minute and i like the indian brown and the 60 min a okay--

Mr. Que, Friday, 16 January 2009 21:15 (sixteen years ago)

if the mods were homos i think we all know theyd be a little more fun

ice cr?m, Friday, 16 January 2009 21:16 (sixteen years ago)

k that is kinda messed up.

THE HIPSTER DILEMMA (call all destroyer), Friday, 16 January 2009 21:16 (sixteen years ago)

HIPSTER DILEMMA pretty otm
plus the really strong getcha el drunko beers from dogfish don't seem to carry the heavy alcoholic taste that some others do - oskar blues will never not be cool for being the first small brewery to use cans but you can really taste the booze in their stuff imo

El Tomboto, Friday, 16 January 2009 21:17 (sixteen years ago)

"sports fan"

El Tomboto, Friday, 16 January 2009 21:18 (sixteen years ago)

i like to fart and i am crazy (gbx), Friday, 16 January 2009 21:35 (sixteen years ago)

it is somewhat problematic that I can imagine dogfish head putting out a beer called FART CRAZY

El Tomboto, Friday, 16 January 2009 21:42 (sixteen years ago)

no, that sounds perfectly reasonable

i like to fart and i am crazy (gbx), Friday, 16 January 2009 21:43 (sixteen years ago)

i like dogfishhead, but they are, like, totally, singlehandedly responsible for alc% and ibu craft brew booyah dick-swinging. see screaming eagle big fat fucking cali cab wino contest for comparison.
