actually the bar is going in right across the street from me, not below me! which is a little better. reading the crown heights brooklynian boards pays off.

other new stuff coming: jamaican place called "the spice is right" and a bakery. and there is a new hamburger place called "homage" that i havent tried yet.

it's by the people behind s0da so it might be lame, but at least not as lame as the sports bar that opened. maybe it will have blts.

does sports bar have wings? we got this all you can eat wings and beer special this weekend during the pro bowl

how did that go? were the wings good? would they be accomodating for nba all star game or is it too football-y a bar for that?

tza: that place seemed ok but they're DICKS about the 2 hours all u can eat wings + all u can drink special -- it was $28 bux pp which is $6 more then their website says and you need a minimum of 6 people. I would rec it for broing down with friends all afternoon.

yeah soda itself is not a bad space, it's just all the people that hang out there. they probably won't make it over as far as franklin though.

fact: soda actually has awesome burgers.

i like their couches, mostly just because i like bars with lots of seating and couches are way more fun for drunk times than stupid wooden chairs. in theory.

the problem with the couches at soda is that there always seems to be a couple dry humping on them.

indeed. tbh i've only been there once, so i can't really speak of it in general terms, just the time i was there, which happened to be fairly early and not very crowded. it still had an air of lameness, but i was all about some couches.

i've seen this three different times in the middle of the afternoon! i mean its one thing if you're traaaaaaashed and its 4am but 5pm at happy hour in a yuppie bar?

i hate sofas at bars. they always seem so unsanitary. dry humping, spilled drinks, cigarette burns, etc etc.

you mean allstar, right? probowl was last night and a different sport entirely.

i would host a party, but i don't have cable so we'd have to like listen live over the internet or something and i think the slam dunk contest would be kind of a let down in that medium.

Soda was all right on slow weekday afternoons, plus garden = happy smokers 6 mos out of the year. At any "going out" time, tho, it's mad crowded with assholes. The FOOD, tho, is awesome. Best BLT I've ever had.
