this is what we saw- they were made over in Bristol
RI.

The owner used to fly (???) down the bay and go out to
the Vineyard for lunch. very weird the first time we
saw them- sun was low in west and shining on the boat
as it "flew" just above the waves in a smooth as glass
manner- not like a boat- going maybe 60-80 mph. One
flew right by us (w/in 200yards) sevral times- have
not seen them/it for a few years- supposedly there
were some bigger (6-8 passenger) ones made and sold in
the Carribbean- I believe they have a high crash rate
but may be wrong.

Why do you need super-maneuverability? What does it give you in a dog fight?

WIth the help of super-maneuverability it is possible to frustrate the enemy's attack. In that our Su frustrates a cannon strike - it is 100 percent! Today the design of the Su-30MK airplane makes victory possible in the very first attack! Not one airplane in the world today can execute the regimes of the Su-30MK!

T4 was a military derivative of the TU-144 SST, I think. NASA using one or more of them for SST research a few years ago was one of the more WTF happenings of the post cold-war era:

Old school MIGs are the best - 15, 17 and 21. I really like the utilitarian look of soviet military gear.
