When I was working for my college radio station, I received a cassingle for this song. Ordinarily, I wouldn't pay it much mind, but there was something about the portrait on the cover I found really compelling. After I heard the first few notes, I wasn't sure if this was even sincere. I thought it could have been some kind of joke, or novelty song. Upon hearing the singer's voice, I was only more confused. So confused, in fact, that I decided to call the record label's number I found on the back of the cassingle liner notes. It was only after speaking with the artist at length that I knew this was 100% earnest, and that made me kind of love the song. If you worked in college radio in the early '90s, or lived on my dorm floor that year, there's a good chance you know this song. I played it constantly, for anyone who was interested -- and for a few people who really weren't interested but I felt needed to hear it anyway. I hope you like it. And if you don't, you're listening wrong.
