before then it was a board on disc server or one of those other silly things. etc. others related to boards before that (fake matador bulletin board... a sort of blander noise board vs. the real matador bulletin boards of the 9798 yaers) .... where i met jack cole, jorel, gygax, ddb, whitey whitesnake, cheeseburger tim, cameleopard, blues control russ, shakey mo, amy dots rahulkins, weird weeds nick, slo-ro, burl ives, and others that i've lost track of from name changes... (it's like some croaky alzheimer's dns error i have on ilx... hostname unresolved. lurker null pointer from memory garbage collection.) prl was kind of the noise of the fmbb. and then the pickle bar became our refuge from the prl and the ilm that we had drifted to because the prl stopped being a community.

and now there's secret boards drifting off the known ilx etc... that's migration i guess.
