no one ever mentions em. They were a fuckin delight friday in providence. really funny lookin leprachaun-like dude heading up the band with a kick drum tied around his neck. not super groove oriented mutant rock, but certainly rockin' out the ass. who digs em?

ok I liked what I had heard by this band a lot, then they came to lexington and here's what their show was:

WILE & CRAZY PROJECTOR MOVIES MOVIN ALL AROUND AND SOME DANCING HIPPIE FAT CHICK WHO ADJUSTED HER TOP EVERY 5-6 SECONDS

The music was OK.
All in all, a disappointment.

ha.
wow.
completely different set.

brock (brock), Sunday, 19 September 2004 22:08 (twenty-one years ago)

they sounded like HIGH RISE / JAZZNOIZE when I saw them first and had crazy projected stuff when i saw them first

They were good last night. Newton sez: "that band is all about percussion." I dug it, though some parts sounded too much like a bad tom waits imitation.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Sunday, 19 September 2004 22:50 (twenty-one years ago)

how is the newton/ren stuff?

Free the Bee (ex machina), Sunday, 19 September 2004 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

i haven't heard it.

I'm recording with newton this weekend; we're going to a Newton/Fake-Newton split release. (based on his calling me fake ian, because he knew Ian from hepatitis youth before he knew me)

i don't believe the above assessments of Temple of Bon Matin are ones that i am in agreement with.

gygax! (gygax!), Sunday, 19 September 2004 23:36 (twenty-one years ago)

live they were way different from the records of theirs i have. i think my general description of bon matin is something along the lines of: free jazz space rock with crazy howling and noise freakout interludes.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Sunday, 19 September 2004 23:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm going to listen to that one Bulb album I got and never listened to and FILE A REPORT.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Sunday, 19 September 2004 23:54 (twenty-one years ago)

i enjoy them, and while I have yet to see them live, I have heard crazy stories about their shows at their home outside philly.

Holly Price (an appletross), Monday, 20 September 2004 03:21 (twenty-one years ago)

holly, do you know philly noise dude NEWTON?

Ian c=====8 (orion), Monday, 20 September 2004 03:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i do not know newton. i live in chicago now. who are the chicago noise dudes?

Holly Price (an appletross), Monday, 20 September 2004 03:59 (twenty-one years ago)

uhh.. jamillah? she's the only person i know from chicago, i think!

Ian c=====8 (orion), Monday, 20 September 2004 04:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Larry "Fuzz-O" Dolman!

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 20 September 2004 04:49 (twenty-one years ago)

hahaha yeah that dude too.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Monday, 20 September 2004 05:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw them at the Destroy All Music festival in Chicago in like, 96, and they were great, and I thought one record was kinda good. Later viewings weren't as interesting.
