listened to colin newman's commercial suicide tonight just to remind myself why i love it so. probably listened to it a hundred times since 1986. it never fails to enchant. i mean, i like all his solo stuff (i even like It Seems a bunch). his first solo album is one of the greatest post-punk albums ever. but suicide gets me in a way that the others don't. it's all about layers. elements added one by one in such an orderly and logical way and adding up to this aural bliss...i dunno, i just dig it a ton.
