noise dudes, do you have any tips for a man heading for the smokey mountains from chicago? we plan on hitting louisville, asheville, bristol, western north carolina, maybe southern west virginia... we end up in knoxville.

i recommend fayetteville, wv area (though this may be a little too far into wv for you) - it is right around the new river gorge and is amazing and beautiful and there are lots of very fun activities.
asheville is great, but i haven't been in ages so i don't know what's going on there these days. also hendersonville, n.c. is a very cute place to stop for a nice dinner. you could also go to brevard for an evening of musical entertainment - they have a full summer season.
