"Hot Pink" and "Up on The Sun" are my favorites so far

yeah the singing is worse, for sure

"up on the sun" is almost as good as anything on II, but theres like 6 up on the sun-level jams on II and like exactly ONE on up on the sun

i was cleaning on saturday and listened to II all the way through and i thought, hey i need to listen to more of these guys so i watched that live clip up there and that's when i checked out up on the sun and later on i decided i liked up on the sun better than II

my next question is what does ZR think?????

yeah i mean II is definitely my fave but up on the sun is really really fucking good, and mr. que's totally right on "two rivers"

equally weird useless factoids: II was recorded largely under the influence of MDMA and UOTS was recorded largely under the influence of the ROCKMAN pedal (invented and made famous by tom scholz of boston)

UOTS has some really classy numbers but II is just so otherworldly, one of those albums where obvs there are a ton of identifiable elements tossed into the mix but the end result doesn't sound like anything else i can think of

anyone seen meat puppets live recently?

I did about a year ago and it was pretty good -- still loose and fun and sloppy, lotta good old shit in the setlist (touchdown king/look at the rain/plateau/up on the sun/sam) and none of the shitty album they'd put out at that point, although i like the newer one since then more.

Under my breath, I howled along with Iggy as he yelped and coaxed a solo out of Ron Asheton.
