this is the thread where you can share your thoughts n' anecdotes about pumping gas in kentucky.
i've done it a few times, driving through the state. seemed pretty straightforward enough

alright, mr. que. 2005 i was driving through the bluegrass state and i needed some gas. i stopped at one place and the pump wouldn't work and it was crowded (near an exit) so i decided to try a different one instead of holding up the line at this one. i went to another one that was not a sunoco or anything, like a tiny gas station, and it did the same thing so the guy on the other side of the pump was like "here!" and pulled the hose and it started working. except i had already pumped a tiny bit and made the meter stop so i had to go ask the counter guy and he thought i was dumb, probably.

that's why i hate kentucky. i think this was in williamstown, kentucky. or something else that began with "williams-"
― steamed hams (harbl), Sunday, 4 October 2009 16:57 (fifteen years ago)
now that i think about it it seems so trivial

i have driven through kentucky exactly twice - on the way to and from cincinnati. i don't remember anything gassy about the trip.

I grew up in Kentucky and have had plenty of experience with gas stations of all sorts in the bluegrass state. I once scandalized my bandmates by purchasing and eating a bucket of fried chicken livers from a gas station in Kentucky. They were salty, greasy and delicious! Close to Tewligan's Tavern, the Bardstown road SuperAmerica in Louisville was a frequent disaffected youth hangout area.
