not too into the remixes that are included but the original tracks are pretty awesome

It's David Linton. Prior to that he was in a band with his college buddy Lee Ranaldo called the Fucts. I used to email Lee about it all the time, he said he'd dig up and digitize some old tapes for me but he never got around to it.

austere starkness, lack of preciousness, if you dig chromatics or portishead I'd be perplexed if the xx didn't do it for you, plus they're an actual band w/ electronic drums played by hand making their ambient effects hardwon + wellearned, last 3 songs on album nearly float away from their own zoned zonkedness

I guess the album will eventually get played 94/7 in starbuckborders and grey's anatomy episodes but right now I'm into it yes

How's that disc?

I like it about the same as the first one (which I also dug and gave quite a few spins), it's produced a little cleaner and poppier, less reverb & feedback all over the place. ditto for their live show, that's kinda why I wanted to give the new one a listen, I saw em on Halloween and they were a lot better than the first time I saw em

they remind me of some bands from the '90s like Tsunami that I used to be really into

ian have you heard that new Phantom Family Halo? I think you told me to check out their previous record and I didn't like it a ton, it was ok ... this one is much better imo so if you liked Legend of Black Six I'd check it out!

i do wanna hear the new phantom family halo rekkerd. i ended up only liking that weird long piano-kraut track on Legend of Black Six, after repeated listens.
