one year passes...
Does anybody actually read this magazine? I haven't looked at a copy since Keiji Haino was on the cover like three years ago. But I was looking at teh FE update and apparently there is an article on QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE in the new issue??? Anybody have this and can tell me if I need...?

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 6 March 2006 03:31 (nineteen years ago)

the artical is by edward pouncey (aka Savage Pencil) and it's nothing ground shaking, stormy. you can more than live without its thumbnail sketch. best moment in the wire of late: the wire getting all irrate about the Sun CIty Girls at Instal.

Jack Cole (jackcole), Monday, 6 March 2006 06:34 (nineteen years ago)

tanx for the info JC ... altho now that you say it is by Sav Pencil I kinda want to read it!!

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 6 March 2006 07:12 (nineteen years ago)

and yeah, that SCG thing was hilarious ... I heard about it on the SCG list. god. "biba kopf"? yeah, ok, dipshit. go back to putting Marc Almond on the cover and leave the taste to others...

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 6 March 2006 07:16 (nineteen years ago)

the sun city girls defied their "museum" approach to non western cultures by treating them as equals as opposed to static display pieces.

Jack Cole (jackcole), Monday, 6 March 2006 07:32 (nineteen years ago)

wait, whats the story on the SCG thing?

o -- (eman), Monday, 6 March 2006 13:29 (nineteen years ago)

quicksilver bit, very mojo. but not quite in the same voice. im not getting it. the niblock interview is halfway there..kinda thin...the wire seems...less than essential recently...time for new blood perhaps.

bb (bbrz), Monday, 6 March 2006 14:24 (nineteen years ago)

magazines are so 20th century

killy (baby lenin pin), Monday, 6 March 2006 14:31 (nineteen years ago)

i bought that one.. that prissy SCG dis editor's note was hilariously off the mark. possibly even funnier is this months Wire, browsed it in a magaazine shop and there are all these Star Trek nerd type SCG fans writing letters to the editor defending the band.

i think the Wire is now doing this on purpose as the editorial in that recent issue is a laughably weak attack on Throbbing Gristle.
