ice cr?m, Monday, 7 December 2009 20:06 (fourteen years ago) link

the last 2 pizzas in this thread look pretty disgusting but then I am a big fan of thin-crust pizzas with some but not overwhelming quantities of cheese and a dearth of pepperoni/processed meat

Crispycones is the original brainchild of New York-based chef and food designer Nir Adar. With a passion for food and all things new, Nir conceived the idea of eating "A Meal in a Cone" while observing pizza being eaten by the slice and seeing the toppings slide off the crust. “What if I could curl the pizza all the way around and seal it tight? It would be just like a cone... hey, it would be a cone!". He quickly realized that this cone would be fantastic for so many other foods as well.

So Nir set about creating the perfect cone for eating anything that could be eaten on pizza, between two slices of bread, on a bagel, in a taco, pita or wrap. His quest: to make it possible to eat all the foods you love on the go. Take for example, beef stew. It's hot. It's nutritious. But you typically eat it sitting down. Not anymore, now you can enjoy it anywhere, anytime with Crispycones.

tehresa, Monday, 7 December 2009 20:21 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah seems more like folding the slice but worse

pizza hut is a sin against god and man

I remember when I used to go to Pizza Hut at lunch time with seven colleagues for the all you can eat deal. The waiter would put down a pizza, we'd each grab a slice, then they'd put down another pizza. I'd look up and there'd be a procession of waiters coming from the kitchens, holding aloft pizzas. In a quarter hour we'd destroy the bollocks out of fourteen, fifteen, sixteen pizzas, and then jet out of there like a Gulfstream.

indian pizza is way better than i would have expected. and pretty obvious too if you consider it's basically just indian food on top of naan-like bread

idk tandoori chicken pizza was pretty o_O when i ate it - basically a curry on a pizza base with cheese - hmm

maybe that was just a bad interpretation of indian pizza

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Monday, 7 December 2009 20:31 (fourteen years ago) link

fyi, don't google "sushi pizza"

jazzgasms (Mr. Que), Monday, 7 December 2009 20:33 (fourteen years ago) link

xp- ya i could see something like that being on a california pizza kitchen-style menu, and that being awful. there are a few specialty indian pizza places in sf that seem to have gotten it right, but from a cursory google search it seems like this is pretty much just a local thing still

psychgawsple, Monday, 7 December 2009 20:36 (fourteen years ago) link

xp - you and i have both weighed in before on indian pizza.

sarahel, Monday, 7 December 2009 20:36 (fourteen years ago) link

seems south (east) asian pizza owes its passablity to the tandoori oven - in thailand a couple times i saw a lil unit sitting out back makin magic - prob migrated over there via burma

afa the i can c (roxymuzak), Friday, 11 December 2009 05:05 (fourteen years ago) link

was it hard to cut through the pizza nugs w/o savaging the pie, that would be my main concern

ice cr?m, Friday, 11 December 2009 05:10 (fourteen years ago) link

you could cut around the rolls

tehresa, Friday, 11 December 2009 05:11 (fourteen years ago) link

you can strategically place the rolls, yes. tbh that is what we did, but actually on eating the pies, i found that my favorite pieces were those with a carelessly halved roll

afa the i can c (roxymuzak), Friday, 11 December 2009 05:13 (fourteen years ago) link

seems itd be more satisfying to cut rite through the rolls

ice cr?m, Friday, 11 December 2009 05:14 (fourteen years ago) link

you have to roll slowly

I was actually gonna say hold the olives, but I am a 1st grader basically.
