I do like the Box Elders but I'm not gonna get out for that show either. And come on I feel like I've seen the Black Lips eleventy times already and my apologies to Chicago Kevin (RIP) but I just don't like them THAT much.

box elders are great, especially live.

the Markers were lukewarm imo. if you're gonna play a standard like "ramblin gamblin man" you better SLAY a standard. some of the new shit off Balf Quarry sounded pretty great, "The Lighter Side of ... Hippies" and that slow one that goes "you're a bad gambler babby so don't bet ..."

when I got to Knit Fac at 12:30 Oneida was still on their first song, lol. a lot of it was pretty jammy and just went by me (enjoyably) but the ending "Up With People" "Sheets of Easter" <--- first time I've seen that one live // really killed

every bar dj in Brooklyn was tributing Alex Chilton tonight

also lol @ Magik Markers ending their set saying "thanks for staying out so late" at 12:15, it was one of the earlier shows I've seen in ny! (not complaining). Oneida ended circa 2am.
