Hm I guess I'd be moderately interested in the HNIA DJ set but that seems like something to get stoned to (if you do that) and play at home in a cool dark room, not to pack a picnic and sit outside in the hot sun and like actively enjoy.

I was tempted even though I just flew back from South Carolina this afternoon. But Twitter tells me it's sold out.

I enjoyed Iceage, went to dinner for the middle band, and stayed for 3 songs of Fucked Up, partly cuz 285 Kent should be renamed "Sweatbox at Firetrap." Should be closed down by NYFD imho.

Hugh Masekela today at Central Park SummerStage; he goes on at 5.30 or so and doors for Somi and Freshlyground are at 2.

The only people I'm really familiar with are Simian Mobile Disco, Gang Gang Dance, Juan MacLean, Black Dice and Das Racist, I mean out of the ones left.

@geeta - yeah Beppe is still doing his thing. Great dude. I'm pretty happy to be playing this one and will hopefully be playing around a bit more in future.

Don't know what Steve Moore does as a DJ but Zombi is a great band, heavy synth action, Goblin probably the closest touchpoint

SMD is kind of ehhh to me but they are a super popular, poppy indie dance act

Omar-S = Detroit techno, did a great Fabric mix last year

other than that Sept 3 looks cool, I don't know The 2 Bears but the rest of it is pretty great leftfield disco revivalism on the DFA / twentyjazzfunkgreats end of the spectrum (if that means anything)

also a big fan of Sun Araw (tropical psychedelic w/ samples and loops) but I don't know the rest of the bands on Aug 27th

Live at the Gantries is a series of free, outdoor performances featuring a collection of Queens-based musicians as diverse as the borough. 2011 performances include: Latin jazz, indie rock, bluegrass string band, a gamelan orchestra, percussion chamber music ensemble, and a blues-rock band.

Live at the Gantries starts Tuesday, July 12 and continues every Tuesday through August 16. Every show starts at 7 o'clock and ends with a spectacular sunset at Gantry Plaza State Park, a 10-acre waterside oasis between 49th and 50th Avenues along the East River (in Long island City).

The stage is indoors but there's an ourdoor courtyard thing with a pizza truck and possibly a taco truck as well? And it might look big but it got v v crowded for the Off!/Superchunk show, so...

H-mag, a local art/community magazine are putting on the show but I don't know how heavily they've been promoting it. I had to tell ohmyrockness.com about it since they didn't have it listed.
