Hi, I'm Paul Banks, and when I can't get to the Lower East Side, I go on vles.com.

Late last year, the Viacom-owned MTV Networks Music and Logo Group made a deal to start VBS, with financing from MTV and content from Vice, which also sells ads.

It's funny how marketing gets more sophisticated and it doesn't at the same time. Pandering is still pandering and still smells bad. You can read these music reviews and hear an editor saying "We can have reviews written in a flip tone, just like in a zine."

i think its weird they did it in-house and in such an obvious ad agency/graphic designy way instead of just doing blogger/zine payola and letting actual awkward clumsy hipsters hype their shit

I think vles.com is kind of neat because it allows me the ability to hang around New York City's Lower East Side from the comfort of my own bedroom!

LOL hey McNeil let's piss away a ton of money on "edgy" stuff like Black Dice interviews than a new marketing director comes in and just deletes the site?
