Heard a noise, went to check, there are 6 kittens on my front porch.

Kerm, Thursday, 15 May 2008 14:51 (seventeen years ago)

Yes, especially if the prefix LOL- is in front of the word "cat".

Pleasant Plains, Thursday, 15 May 2008 15:21 (seventeen years ago)

Yes; I love cats, but I ain't obsessed w/kitty porn.

Also, one of the wireless networks that is within reach of my abode is called "I CAN HAZ INTERNETZ!", and it makes me irrationally angry every time I see it.

dell, Thursday, 15 May 2008 18:09 (seventeen years ago)

My personal abilities to abstain are very, very weak. I mean, even a bad lolcat may have a cute cat inside.

libcrypt, Thursday, 15 May 2008 18:15 (seventeen years ago)

haha

But it's just not the same as seeing them IN THE FUR, MAAAN! You can't pet a computer screen or play Cat Dancer with even an animated gif

dell, Thursday, 15 May 2008 18:23 (seventeen years ago)

Yes, but nobody invites me over for free cat dances and they usu run me $50/pop at the sushi club downtown.

libcrypt, Thursday, 15 May 2008 18:28 (seventeen years ago)

Aye, there's the rub...

I do not like cats and so rarely open those threads.

ENBB, Thursday, 15 May 2008 19:00 (seventeen years ago)

You are joking, right? Do you have allergies?

dell, Thursday, 15 May 2008 19:14 (seventeen years ago)

No I'm not but don't hold it against me. I've never been around cats much so they kind of freak me out. Also, they don't sit on your lap or get excited to see you. :-( Maybe I've only been around bad cats?

ENBB, Thursday, 15 May 2008 19:29 (seventeen years ago)

Nah, I think I hear you. I am a relatively late convert to the cat world. The thing is, there are so many cats that are ridiculously affectionate towards even the most distant strangers to the point where they exhibit a pathological-ish level of neediness, etc.

The aloof stereotype is partly true, but...

dell, Thursday, 15 May 2008 19:35 (seventeen years ago)

The porch, earlier:

Now they're on the deck, all piled in a flower pot.

Kerm, Thursday, 15 May 2008 19:47 (seventeen years ago)

omg kerm

bell_labs, Thursday, 15 May 2008 19:48 (seventeen years ago)

Kerm, Thursday, 15 May 2008 19:53 (seventeen years ago)

Depends on the cat. I have a siamese that positively goes berserk when I get home, loves the lap, etc. She also fetches and comes when she's called.

libcrypt, Thursday, 15 May 2008 20:21 (seventeen years ago)

Also, they don't sit on your lap or get excited to see you. :-(

that's not true at all

latebloomer, Thursday, 15 May 2008 20:27 (seventeen years ago)

my cat runs to the door and meows when i come home. she can hear me coming up the stairs and starts mewling really loudly.

she is a crazy bitch though and i am mad at her for mauling my arm. i look like an emo kid.

bell_labs, Thursday, 15 May 2008 20:30 (seventeen years ago)

Also, they don't sit on your lap or get excited to see you

this is what makes them great

terrifyingly ADORABLE

latebloomer, Thursday, 15 May 2008 22:38 (seventeen years ago)

Ok the hobocat pics are cute except for the creepy eyes one.

So maybe I have just been around unfriendly cats? I will give them another chance. It's tough for me to get used to their independence because I was raised with pugs who are completely ridiculous velcro lapdogs.

ENBB, Friday, 16 May 2008 04:45 (seventeen years ago)

the creepy eyes one is the best!

i've met many an unfriendly cat but my own are very friendly and happy to say hello and appropriate anyone's lap when available

electricsound, Friday, 16 May 2008 04:53 (seventeen years ago)

Both of my cats will trundle down our one flight of stairs to greet us at the front door if they hear me coming in and they are not in the middle of a big nap. They also usually try to follow me out the door in the morning.

libcrypt, Friday, 16 May 2008 05:24 (seventeen years ago)

i love the shiny glaring eyes under the porch.

Jordan, Friday, 16 May 2008 19:21 (seventeen years ago)

those two little black ones are like "where's our saucer of milk?"

bell_labs, Friday, 16 May 2008 19:22 (seventeen years ago)

(i refrained from typing that in lolspeak, but it was hard.)
