I'm just under 5'10" and spent the weekend hanging out with a fiver footer. I felt like an enormous monster next to her. I need taller friends.

That's rare! Being tall the one thing I've never been called is "cute". I think "cute" or "adorable" usually go along with being small. Yay for adorable tall ladies!!

I'm 6'1" and was TOTALLY dwarfed by a 6'5" woman the other day! I too have short friends - notably, a woman who has been a friend of my boyfriend for 10+ years and lives on the top floor of the triplex we live in - she's 5'1"! It makes for some very awkward photos. She's also SUPER thin and always exercising. Man.

As you might have noticed my name is Joerg and I am 5'8" (1.72 m).

I do have a preference for taller women but I still believe it's not a fetish but a genuine interest which includes caring for the woman and treating her accordingly (like a goddess / princess). I guess I should add that I also find shorter women attractive so it's not a "fixation", just a preference.

Why are the negative points accentuated when someone has an "unusual" preference? The feedback I have had in regard to this page (in which I try to explain my motivation and how I see the modern, progressive female and this includes tall women) shows that there are people of both sexes who attempt to overcome the difficulties which are mostly down to the societies we live in.

So, why do I have a crush on tall women and why do I admire and adore them so much more than the smaller ones?

I suppose I am not the only short guy who has given this question a deep thought and I guess I have found some anwers for myself.

Firstly, it needs much more self-confidence to approach a tall girl. I've never been interested in doing anything the easy way. Fighting to achieve an aim makes the goal itself more attractive. You must also have the ability not to take yourself too seriously, although this is a virtue which helps in most human relationships.

Perhaps it it really down to "opposites attract". Maybe the question is more difficult to answer.

Fact is - the attraction is there and should we really think too much about it or shouldn't we just try to enjoy ourselves when we get the chance?

I know a few girls/women who are at least three inches taller than me. In fact most women I know are at least my height. Of those who are taller none has ever complained about my lack of height as far as my attractiveness is concerned.

It is really interesting that many of the girls prefer shorter men. Two very good female friends of mine are 6'1" (Silke) and 6'2" (Anette) respectively and have always found smaller guys more attractive. Anette was the first tall woman I found attractive when I first met her in 1984. You could say she initialised my love for tall women - there may be a page about Anette in the near future!

I also remember liking a woman whose name was Petra, she was about 6'0". Someone else who is important to me up to this day is 6'3" Diana from Bavaria, Germany. There's also Manuela (6'6 1/2"), Sandra (6'2") and Sylvana (5'11"). These are all German friends of mine.

These days I consider Kathy to be the cutest person in the World. Kathy (who is 6'3") and I didn't hit it off 100 percent when I visited her in the US for the first time in 2003 but over the years my feelings for her got stronger and stronger. These days I wouldn't know what I'd do without her. That's why I look forward to seeing her again very soon! Can't wait! when I saw Rihanna in Waikiki she was way taller than I thought she would be, so much that I thought "that looks like a tall version of Rih" before I figured out it was her.

She is listed as 5'8" - 5'10" but she must have been wearing hueg clunky heels or something because she was only a couple of inches shorter than me.

I am 5'8", on the edge of being a tall lady, just tall enough that it seems most guys are my height.

I am typically never attracted to tall dudes, either, unlike my short sister who seems to only want to date someone 6' and over. I seem to fancy guys who are 5'7"-5'11"ish.

i've never dated someone shorter than me. same height, yes, but maybe because i'm not a super thin person, i end up feeling gigantor next to shorter guys, even tho this is mostly in my head, i mean, i'm always surprised when same-height-as-me guys, who are by all appearances thin, wear clothes that are too big for me. guys r different it is intresting.

i am training myself to keep my shoulders back. yoga helps. it is difficult but looks much better than slightly curved shoulders. i def look taller but boobs look hueg (they are not!) and it is something to just chill out abt and get used to because hey
