i actually just scared the shit out of my cat. i filled her food bowl, which is next to the dryer, and i had accidentally turned on the "done signal" for when the load is finished, which is this really loud buzz. just when she came over i opened the dryer door and it buzzed and we both jumped up in the air

Ha ... we have two cats, one is typically the more aggressive one and the other one is very passive and nervous all the time. But one time a friend brought his pug over to our apartment; the aggressive one just hid under the bed the whole time, while the passive one was going all crazy with like hissing and sideways pouncing, it was awesome.

also harbl and enbb i am the same w/r/t languages: they come very easily to me, but i only ~know~ english and have forgotten almost all of the french i had. could probably pick it up w/immersion and practice, but that's currently lacking.
would love to learn russian/chinese, but yeah spanish would be more practical

The engineers worked out a formula: the lapping frequency should be the weight of the cat species, raised to the power of minus one sixth, and multiplied by 4.6. They then made friends with a curator at Zoo New England who let them videotape his big cats. Lions, leopards, jaguars and ocelots turned out to lap at the speeds predicted by the formula.
