i am imagining a buddhist monastary in the woods. i could sweep the floors and be quiet and read books and pay a few hundred dollars a month.

yeah. a friend of my sister's has saved up money and is taking a year off work to read on the beach, basically. he was passing through town and asked me for book recommendations and i started to tell him i couldn't really recommend books because if i had a year to just read i would read a bunch of thick Victorian novels and then i immediately, desperately wanted to do it.

i lived in a very tiny cabin in the USVI for three weeks! no booze allowed

swam w/ phosphorescence, got stung by a jellyfish (peed on it), saw a pufferfish the size of a microwave, real talk

Yes pls would like this right now. Desperate for a holiday. Havent been anywhere but back to my parents/bf's parents in like 5+ years. I just want to go stay in a beach shack in a raggedy remote oceanside farm town for a long weekend and write and draw comics.

Heck I havent even been to visit my family (who are 900km interstate) in 1.5 years. I have a nephew I've never met :/

I passed up the chance, in the mid 90s, to spend summer months in a 3 storey mansionette in the Abruzzi mountains with a large, trad italian family. I AM INSANE.

in my detox scenario I listen to D'Angelo at sunset and my cat purrrrs on my tummy while I pour in the gas station liqour capsule into my already strong Kahuna drink.

After the last couple months I would just about kill for a weekend alone in a cabin or in a cabin on the beach. No phone, no internets, no nothing. Just me and some music, books, sunshine and crisp fall air. Yes.
