incidents:

-lol my flask fell out of my jacket pocket at a staff meeting wednesday

-the next day at a smaller meeting while waiting for everyone to show up someone said i looked a little :/ and i answered "yeah i probably shouldn't have finished the bottle last night"

-i went back to the restaurant last night to steal a red bull

Ive had a severe head cold and ear infection for 7 days. Did that stop me drinking 3 longnex of cider and smoking half a pack? Naw :(

I'm a lot better than I was, but I'm constantly CONSTANTLY having to berate myself to stay on guard and not go nuts.

i drink mostly g&t's at home so usually don't go for the premium stuff, $20 gin good enough for liver destruction

a 'why bother' reference to cheap gin is a disconcerting thing to read on a rehab thread.

Quality House Extra Dry Gin

I drink Gin and Tonic when we are entertaining friends, but it is difficult to find a decent dry Gin, unless you buy Quality House Extra Dry Gin. It is 35% alcohol, and I usually purchase the smaller bottle of 200 ml.

Quality House Exrta Dry Gin is refreshing when served with tonic water, tonic water and over ice, or just on the rocks. I have also had it with plain club soda, and it is just as refreshing, especially with a slice of lemon added.

If you need to spice up some punch, add the 200 ml. bottle of Quality House Extra Dry Gin with some pineapple jiuce and white cranberry juice. Garnish the punchbowl with some lemon slices and a pich of dried mint before serving.

Some recipes which require alcohol in the sauces can also se gin as a substitute; try this brand, because it is inexpensive as well as reducing the sickly sweet taste that some of those sauces add to a meal. If you want to watch your calorie intake, Quality House Extra Dry Gin is also a great standby for that night of socializing, without the bloated feeling you would get from drinking a glass of beer.

Quality House Extra Dry Gin can be bought in the smaller 200 ml. sized clear plastic bottle at most liquer stores for just around $3.00. Larger bottles can be bought of course, but please, be mindful of storing largr bottles of liquer away from children of any age.

I enjoy this particular brand of dry gin, and give it 10 out of 10 for the rich dry tatse, and great value for money.

hoos, lol. Did you take advantage of southby? The streets were flowing with Red Bull and vodka.

I only drink beer and wine, easier to get at odd hours than liquor.

I'm up to a bottle or a bottle and a half of wine on weekend nights. A half bottle on most week nights. *sigh* so sad.

Of course this is tons better than my trainwreck days on ILx six years ago or so when I was posting under the influence of things that could not be bought retail.

i am trying this thing where i don't drink for a week to see if i can.

^ I've done this before when I used to drink more regularly and it can be a v good thing imo. I only drink like once or twice a month now because I honestly just don't enjoy it that much anymore.

I find I go through phases where alcohol is repulsive to me and phases where alcohol is deliciously addictive to me

i think i've actually managed to develop a healthy attitude and use of alcohol, though it took me quite a while. maybe i don't belong on this thread?

i used to be able to and would often get really drunk, but now I just can't go there. I'm very immoderate in my smoking nowadays - almost 2 packs a day.

i was drunk at 3 o'clock today after a morning of bloody marys with a side of mimosas.

this was fun until i realized I had folks coming over for an important meeting at my house. i brewed coffee to sober up but roxy said i smelled boozey.

haha it wasnt bad but i did notice when you were close to me at one moment that you had had at least a drink. lol

last night found me drinking 10 tequila drinks and spilling the eleventh one upon it's arrival. it is nice to have moved across the street from all the bars I frequent so I do not endanger lives on my way home.

i kept a booze journal a few years back when i was drinking a lot and starting to get worried. it was just a daily tally of what kind & how many. it was useful in that i could see when i was spiking up and then i would lay off for a few days. not an issue anymore, i'm just a 1-2 drinks a day dude now

velko thats a fantastic idea, I might have to try that. Esp over the xmas break and my holidays, to see how/if I get out of control when I dont have work to worry about, which is more than likely, haha oh dear.

I'm hoping my renewed Wii Fit routine will give me less desire to smoke, at least, as i'll need more energy.

not really rehabbing but i'm going on a supercharged workout spree pre-holidays in anticipation of my routine getting all screwed up while i'm out of town. 1.5 weeks til i leave. i went out for the first time in ages last weekend and it was terrible. i will have a few drinks at a party on sat but that is all.

dudes i was talking to a coworker who said he went to the doctor and told the guy that he has 2 beers on friday and saturday nights and the doc/nurses started making joeks abt him being an alky. i was like 2 beers?!? more like 10, amirite! i laughed and he looked at me incredulously.

I think the fact its the shortest month is one of the lolreasons why they picked it (kinda like "hey its only 28 days quit whining"). I dunno if I'll do the fundraiser though.
