there was this awesome cocktail i used to drink called the lucky lindy that was more or less what roxy said - bourbon & lemonade - but it had mint leaves instead of the orange slice.

I have a friend who is a compulsive liar. It's never about anything malicious or harmful, it mostly takes the form of a tendency to make up facts and then refuse to back down when proven wrong. Me and another friend came up a codeword to use whenever the first friend tells a fib. That codeword is "lemonade". Whenever he starts on one of his lies, the subject of lemonade somehow always seems to come up. He seems to have caught onto the fact that something's up, but not exactly what. It's fucking hilarious.

i tried for a long time to make a ginger mint lemonade for mixing bourbon with but the mint is difficult and i'm wary of infusing it in a simple syrup cause i don't like to sweeten drinks.

why difficult?

to get the appropriate balance of ginger and mint. the mint is delicate and very susceptible to the acidity of the lemons.

oh. if lemonade is already sweetened to high heaven why don't you infuse the simple syrup and use it to sweeten the lemonade except then you'd have to make your own lemonade

yeah i mean i was making my own lemonade but i was wary of simple syrup. v minimal sugar over here.

i use minimal sugar. i just don't like sweet drinks. ginger and alcohol is amazing. i went to a senegalese place last week that made their own ginger juice. served in a chilled glass with vodka and a giant hunk of ginger. a+
