CHERRY BLOSSOMS

The blooming of cherry trees (which in Japanese are called sakura) is anticipated by the Japanese with such an eagerness that it prompts the national weather bureau to forecast and chart the progress of the sakurazensen (’cherry blossom front’) across the Japanese archipelago, south to north.

Not quite cherry blossom trees but all the dogwoods in my neighborhood are in full flower right now, they're fucking gorgeous. There's one down near the end of the street that's more than 100 years old, it's as big as a house.
