lately i've been watching a lot of 'house hunters international'

this is a really dope show, def live vicariously thru it, lots of ppl buying houses on beaches and stuff, doesn't make me feel so sad. ppl buying houses is a funny thing, they always make big deals out of the stupidest things. i lol so hard when the realtor is like "oohh look at all this closet space!" - not that closet space isn't important but you know. lol @ realtors mostly. lots of times this show features slightly older people who want to buy a vacation home in the carribean and i wold def kiw these ppl.

right now i'm watching 'iron chef: america' - i never really got the fuss over iron chef & this is just genuinely boring. an hour for this show is so unnecessary, as much as i love alton brown. also, such a high chance that mo rocca shows up on the show, and i don't want to watch anything that might make me cross paths with mo rocca.

v much enjoy the show 'pranked' on mtv

it's like america's funniest home videos but of pranks (so i guess kinda like AFHV) - a dude just got tricked into having his hands duck taped to the sides of his head

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 26 October 2009 05:58 (fifteen years ago)

how does that even begin to happen

Nanobots: HOOSTEEND (BIG HOOS aka the steendriver), Monday, 26 October 2009 12:49 (fifteen years ago)

This is good. I never know what shows to watch anymore and I trust Jordan. J - have you seen Hoarders on A&E?

bear say hi to me (ENBB), Monday, 26 October 2009 12:51 (fifteen years ago)

friend a told dude that he wanted to show him a trick he learned on the internet. friend a had dude put his hands on the sides of his head, and friend a grabbed dude's forearms and held them in place. (personally, i don't know how dude didn't immediately think that he was going to be kneed in the balls but whatever). friend b then ran from behind dude and started furiously wrapping duck tape around his head and hands while friend a continued to hold his arms in place. brought many lols.

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 26 October 2009 12:52 (fifteen years ago)

some of these aren't even "pranks" as much as dick moves. like, a dude is sleeping on a couch and two friends pick the couch up and tip it over thus thrusting dude into a wall

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 26 October 2009 12:53 (fifteen years ago)

friend b then ran from behind dude and started furiously wrapping duck tape around his head

ok i lold reading this good work

Nanobots: HOOSTEEND (BIG HOOS aka the steendriver), Monday, 26 October 2009 12:53 (fifteen years ago)

yeah enbb i've seen hoarders - peep my a&e thread on ile - but i have a sort of mental hurdle with that show, like, i can't fundamentally understand the mentality behind it. when i watch it i'm just dumbfounded almost to the point of disbelief, not unlike how i am when i watch "tool academy 2"

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 26 October 2009 12:54 (fifteen years ago)

I can be trusting to a fault - that could easily have been me.

Yeah Hoarders is really sad but it fascinates me and if it's on I can't help but watch.

bear say hi to me (ENBB), Monday, 26 October 2009 13:00 (fifteen years ago)

is this where we can talk abt the oxygen network series 'snapped'? it is a show detailing cases of wives killing their mans and dem b/c of getting money or b/c dude was cheatin or custody shit. my wife watches it all the time, i am afeared she is getting ideas but thankfully i am not worth very much alive or dead.

chemical ali v. chemical frazier (m bison), Monday, 26 October 2009 13:55 (fifteen years ago)

I LOVE THAT SHOW

harbl, Monday, 26 October 2009 13:59 (fifteen years ago)

i don't know how my parents get oxygen because they only have basic cable but every time i go there i watch it because it's always on 10 times in a row during the day. creepy/disturbing tv shows are the only kind i like tbh, even if they are mega cheesy

harbl, Monday, 26 October 2009 14:00 (fifteen years ago)

being home w/ the baby has made us even worse cable junkies than before -- my wife recently discovered the ID channel (Investigation Discovery), so i'll come home and she'll have been watching like 10 hours of murder stories and forensic shows while holding a newborn.

our favorite shit lately is "Man V. Food" on the Travel Channel, which is kind of like the diner show w/ Guy Fieri except with an actually likable host and more emphasis on competitive eating challenges. last week they did an episode in D.C. and Annapolis and went to a place we've been to, and they're doing an episode in Baltimore this week so i'm excited to see where they go.

President Deez (some dude), Monday, 26 October 2009 14:05 (fifteen years ago)

more emphasis on competitive eating challenges

you say this like it's an improvement lol

harbl, Monday, 26 October 2009 14:06 (fifteen years ago)

i put 'snapped' in a similar headspace as 'bridezillas'. altho i think i have more sympathy for many of the murderesses than i do the zillas, shawties are outta CONTROL.

chemical ali v. chemical frazier (m bison), Monday, 26 October 2009 14:10 (fifteen years ago)

lately i've been watching a lot of 'house hunters international'

btw i stan hard for og house hunters, hh international, my first place, property virgins, and even income property if i'm drinking too much.

call all destroyer, Monday, 26 October 2009 14:12 (fifteen years ago)

it is! it's fun watching a non-professional/freak of nature competitive eater try to get down a giant burger or a 6 pound milkshake, sometimes he makes it and sometimes he doesn't so there's some suspense there. (xpost)

President Deez (some dude), Monday, 26 October 2009 14:12 (fifteen years ago)

bridezillas doesn't seem like a show i could watch without vomiting tbh

harbl, Monday, 26 October 2009 14:13 (fifteen years ago)

it rly is ipecac in audio/visual form

chemical ali v. chemical frazier (m bison), Monday, 26 October 2009 14:15 (fifteen years ago)

the hoarders show is amazing! i've only seen two episodes that were on the a&e website though. i kind of get some of what's going on.. some people attach wayyyyy too much meaning to stuff.. but not quite how it goes that far.

what kind of money? obama money! (daria-g), Monday, 26 October 2009 18:54 (fifteen years ago)

big up to house hunters international

i don't watch too much iron chef anymore but The Next Iron chef show is good.

also Rehad-Party at the Hard rock and Operation Repo on TruTV

i think ive talked about this before on ilx but a friend/acquaintance of mine from high school was actually approached by mtv to "recreate" the senior prank he put together where he was able to put porn on every tv in the school--he worked in the a/v dept and one day during lunch there was a hot BJ in every hallway and the cafeteria--and the best part was that because they hated kids and didnt trust us they had fixed every tv so none of the buttons worked--and of course none of the teachers knew how the system worked so the were just trying to press the power and channel buttons like mad--and eventually just like covering up the tv with their hands

Bobby Wo (max), Monday, 26 October 2009 19:11 (fifteen years ago)

that senior prank show is awesome, i forget what it's called tho

'property virgins' is def dope, my prob with that show is that they insist on referring to the couples as 'virgins' and it kind of creeps me out, so i don't watch it as much as i should

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 26 October 2009 19:34 (fifteen years ago)

oh damn i saw an episode of the prank show where these kids successfully fakes a snow day announcement. was pretty sweet.

carne asada, Monday, 26 October 2009 21:55 (fifteen years ago)

i respect him because he's successful and has qualities that i don't, namely business savvy, punctuality and drive

also he's super intense about always having gum, which i am too

he would be a dick to work for but you know he’d have your back.

america's funniest home videos but of pranks (so i guess kinda like AFHV)

at some point this show contracted it to AFV and this was around when i started getting into it, or i mean as into it as u can get, with a show like this. like id be excited to see that it was on if i was channel surfing and i had theories and opinions abt like what kind of vids were the best (fat dudes suffering physical harm) versus what kind of vids won most often (shit with babbies) and started to find tom bergeron pretty ingratiating.

legit 40 (Lamp), Wednesday, 28 October 2009 01:52 (fifteen years ago)

heres a summary of vid that i saw and that i think abt all the time randomly. from memory not 100% verbatim probably

shakey handheld camera focuses in on a GRANDMA clutching a cheap camera and looking lost. in the background is the GREAT WALL. from off camera he here the voice of a TEENAGE BOY

TEENAGE BOY: hows the trip been, grandma?
GRANDMA: lovely!
TEENAGE BOY: whats your favorite thing so far?
GRANDMA: oh, i dont know...
TEENAGE BOY: what about [some chinese place]
GRANDMA: [looking increasingly disoriented] where?
TEENAGE BOY: ummm where are we now, grandma?
GRANDMA: [silent, seems to be thinking for a couple of second] M-m-m-mexicoooo???

sometimes ill just be walking around living my life and i'll hear clear as day that old women saying mexico, looking lost, sounding bewildered

legit 40 (Lamp), Wednesday, 28 October 2009 01:57 (fifteen years ago)

man i <3 'parking wars'

all these people have really good attitudes & good senses of humor

it's kind of heartening that there are city workers out there doing banal jobs that go with the flow & look for the light side in things instead of being curmudgeonly dicks who try and piss people off and get into arguments where they can feel better about themselves bcuz they will "win"

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 28 October 2009 07:29 (fifteen years ago)

lol this guy who just got a ticket goes

"i'm not mad at him, it's his job, but he's an asshole, he could've fucked with someone else"

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 28 October 2009 07:30 (fifteen years ago)

i <3 steve & sherri the booting crew from philly so much - they are such a fun duo

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 28 October 2009 07:57 (fifteen years ago)

they are like a married couple that bickers frequently but always make up instantly

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 28 October 2009 07:59 (fifteen years ago)

right now steve's phone isn't working, sherri relates to us that steve gets pissed off when his phone doesn't work because he is very particular about his phones

steve also got mad at sherri for moving the seat up :-)

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 28 October 2009 08:00 (fifteen years ago)

a few episodes ago, this guy got booted and started yelling "THESE POLICE ARE FUGAZI! THESE POLICE ARE FUGAZI!" - it's been stuck in my head since

watching 'showdown with bobby flay'

this show, idk, i like flay a lot as a TV guy, and i like this show because they are always making normal shit like mac n cheese or meatballs or cheesesteak but this is kind of a dick move show right?? like, these people get tricked into thinking that the food network is doing a whole show on the one dish that they have pretty much devoted their life to perfecting BUT INSTEAD the show actually has a professionally trained, award winning chef ambush them in attempt to outdo this one thing that they've pretty much devoted their life to perfecting. like, if they lose to bobby flay, the only thing that they can take away from the show is basically "bobby flay functionally shit on my whole life today"

nice bump carne, million dollar listing is a really good show. that guy seems genuinely analytic about relationships & they give him enough air time to just talk. anyway.

i watched "silent library" today on mtv... which i'm almost 100% sure is a rip-off of a japanese game show but it's really awesome. i saw the asher roth/justin bieber celeb episode and it made me want to kick it with asher roth!
