I saw this mail art thing once where the guy sent a package that had a disposable camera sticking out of it and a big message on the front to the postal workers asking them to take photos with the camera something fun like that

there was this project i was part of once, that was kinda similar - where the people involved had to take a photo that was a "self-portrait" every day for "x" number of days.

it could be combined - we each begin with juggalo baby, then take it wherever we want, and other people add to it, etc.

from my experience, passing along physical objects, while it might be more interesting artistically - also tends to create delays in completion of projects.

i do kinda like the idea of mail being part of it like you could mail something to someone and they take a photo of it an email it to someone else who prints it out and makes and origami swan out of it and...

maybe the irresponsible people can do one project and the people who are prompt and punctual and never lose things can do another and the irresponsible one can be superimposed on the responsible one at the end

haha btw since we're talking about irresponsible ppl who ruin art projects once in college i got stuck doing some collab project with a girl who was for some reason also working THREE jobs n had to do the whole thing myself and lied for her in every tutorial/crit like "oh she was just here a second ago and she had this idea" lol

i'm not irresponsible, in general, i just have a habit of misplacing things that i get in the mail.

it was this retarded video in the end that sucked ass but that the woman doing the workshop thought was kickass and I got all these plaudits cos it looked professional but that was because it was compiled basically of outtakes from stuff i took srsly and had actually worked on so yeah, irresponsible ppl sometimes contribute end results iirc

when u play irl, someone writes a sentence and passes it to the next person. they draw a picture interpreting the sentence, and hand the picture to the next person, who writes a sentence, etc.

no i didn't maybe we could combine both ideas i kinda like that, like maybe you send your picture on with a sentence as well so that the person after you interprets the sentence over ur modified drawing etc.

wait actually, when someone posts their picture in the gallery thread another ilxor can post a sentence and that combined with the picture you recieve will be the inspiration 4 ur contribution!

that way it fully incorporates irl and 1p3

this is kinda weird for me because u no i'm actually pretty serious abt painting but i only really do stuff usually that is me thinking stuff through or is kinda part of "my work" or whatevs so its kinda hard to know how to approach just something fun for a 1p3 community art project

that said i suppose the collages that i've made on that thread i was semi-serious with about half of them even the tuppence things once in a while (the frida kahlo came from something i was doing where i was doing copies of paintings by painters i think are shit to try and get a better understanding of why they're supposed to be good)

this is a solo art project question (ftr i've never undertaken an art project)

i want to take very hi res & close up photos of chewed gum, in various (hopefully bright colors). i think the shapes that can randomly arise from chewed gum are really cool, esp when twirled & then removed from finger & i think it would look cool under v bright light with the saliva glistening

would this be a cool thing to take photos of?

man it's what you do with it and where it takes you that counts. if you have an idea go for it but also be critical about the results and try to see what's good about them and what's bad about them, have fun though!
