The fried bologna sandwich has been elevated to a regional specialty in the Midwest and Appalachia. It is the sandwich served at lunch counters of small family run markets that surround the Great Smoky Mountains.

i eat fried baloney sandwiches with an over easy egg for breakfast all the time. i'll switch up the bread, sometimes a bagel, sometimes white, wheat, rye, etc. its awesome.

fried baloney on cheap white bread (which i haven't had in like 20 years) is/was great, but so easily ruined by even the tiniest hint of mayonnaise. mayo + baloney = yack

Oh dang, I almost bought a pack of bologna last night to make one or two of these, but the 2nd half of the package is always a trial and a chore to get through.

with fucking PRIDE
I sent my mom a link to that blog post & she wrote back:"Is it really that unusefull to tell people how to make a sandwich? Remember red and green grapes*, and Martha thought there were people that needed an exact recipe, maybe if she put the sandwich in some cute wrapper, the reason red and green grapes were magazine worth was that they were served in drinking fountain paper cones, maybe if you put a sandwich in an envelope, that would be cool. "
*A recipe from "Martha Stewart Living" infamous in my family for telling you how to combine red and green grapes in equal measures.

How about putting the sandwich in a Jiffy bag, to protect it from damage?

And in the UK we can't beat red & green grapes, but how about detailed instructions on how to boil an egg?http://www.deliaonline.com/how-to-cook/eggs/how-to-boil-an-egg.html

unsliced baloney is so weird. it reminds me of leg. like if popeye died in a plane crash in the andes and you had to eat him, he would be baloney all the way through.

made a fried baloney sanwiches last night, drunk off my ass, according to directions implied by "no" picture above. i.e., toasted hanburger bun, THICK slice of unsliced baloney leg, am cheese, veggies. WAS AWESOME. i dethickened the baloney leg somewhat because i didn't want to eat so very much of it and it was very wide, wider than the photo version. weird thing is that thick baloney doesn't curl. it tries to curl but cannot because it is too thick in the middle. sad, really. the struggles.
and i used mayo. i put it on the veggies side of the bread, very far from the baloney, so that they could not comingle. recommended.
