pistachio is one of my favorite ice cream flavors

i <3 pistachio ice cream and always search for it but really good examples are difficult to find

my theory is that it is usually better with the flavouring primarily from pistachio essence rather than large amounts of pistachios themselves, cuz the latter effects the consistency of the ice cream, but idk that may well be all wrong

I've got some Ben & Jerry's "Pistachio Pistachio" in my freezer.

they don't seem to sell that in the uk, haagen dazs also sell a restricted range here ;_;

how do they make pistachio extract? like with a syringe? sounds p tedious

these are the best nuts > cashew.

for some reason the Planters Pistachio Lovers mix of almonds, cashews, and pistachios completely disgusts me even though I love all three of those nuts individually. I guess it's because pistachios don't combine well with other nuts and because the pistachios in the mix are shelled, meaning you can eat a ton of them in one sitting until they start to cloy. I'm glad pistachio shells are relatively hard to open, because it's a food that's better to savor than to wolf down.

bologna with pistachios embedded in it is the worst thing ever, by the way.

I had it for the first time a couple months ago. It was a revelation.

i saw a "roommate wanted" sign from someone with a dog named pistachio. this thread plus ENBB made me think "Does she know her?"

Yessss. God yes. But, yeah, the UK is a pistachio ice-cream free zone, so whenever I'm in France or wherever I gorge.
