I'd never heard of a Cobb salad before I saw that and now that's all I think of every time I see one on the menu. I think maybe I thought it was a 'carb' salad too... which baffled me a bit

I'm gonna have my dad make me a nicoise salad this weekend but without anchovies because I am not a fan. They scare me. Little food stuffs often do. In addition to being freaked out by little fish I do not like baby versions of bigger vegetables - baby corn and brussels sprouts are the worst.

I have an irrational distaste for Cobb salad

Haha same with salad nicoise, it's like "here's an entire cold dinner dumped on your plate with some lettuce". Which is fine, but kind of stretches the definition of salad

you can make it with tuna! lot of places do, probably due to american anchovy hate (and the expense of the nice ones). preserved tuna in oil is more trad, but i'm not gonna complain if they go for seared ahi instead.

duh, i'm not thinking straight. course it's got tuna AND chovies. which i love, but maybe you could put them in your napkin.
