My Merriam-Webster pocket dictionary wants me to know what "popover" means. It's there every time I flip through the ps.
Also, if you stay up until 5 in the morning at your friend's apartment and your friend has cable you can watch Astro Boy. It's not that entertaining.
I'm still not entirely sure what a popover is, but I'm pretty sure, without reading the definition, that it's a baked savory food.

My Merriam-Webster pocket dictionary didn't have the definition of "catamite," and neither did my OED condensed pocket dictionary. I looked it up online and now I know. It came up about a dozen times in a book I'm reading, and then a few times in another book that's pretty dirty.
If you're an editor and your job is to condense the OED into a pocket-sized book, what do you decide to keep? Do you think . . . do you think the editors used a computer to determine what words in the English language have been used the most since its inception? Why did catamite get short-shrift? I looked up shrift recently, too, but it didn't stick. I think ratiocination stuck, though. That's got to do with Dupin.
My friend's got a bath, too, and I intend to use it, by golly.
Anyone got any favorite amateur critics/reviewers? Preferably not amateur music reviewers, as I would spontaneously develop narcolepsy.
Tomorrah I go to the eye doctor and if I get an okay from him then I probably get to go to San Francisco as a test run to trying to live there. I have to get an okay from my psychologist, too, only sort of, because he won't object and I'm not that kind of case, really.
Have you seen this cartoon in which the characters are living in some kind of post-apocalyptic wasteland and they use catapults to pitch kitchen sinks as if they were air-to-ground missiles? If I were ten I would love this. If I were sixteen I would really like this.
You know how people say "like" too much? I do that, too, certainly, but I also say "just" too much, to mean "only" or "merely." It's as if I'm reluctant to say anything confidently.
