I had to board-op this woman's conservative talk show today:
http://terryfrank.net/
She uses Clash songs as her bumper music (!!!), including "Rudie Can't Fail" oddly labeled as "Dudre Can't Fail."

She makes you play the Hallelujah Chorus any time she says "Obama" and then screeches "HE'S GONNA SAVE THE WORLD!!!!! YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!", etc.

Radio Revolution Current mood: nostalgic
The great poet who was Bob Marley sang, "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds."
Today during WAY BACK WEDNESDAY some of us disc jockeys were inspired by the great man and we need YOUR help. Take this time right now to respond to this blog with your honest and true feelings about the station. Tell us what you like, what you want more or less of, what curdles your blood when it graces the airwaves. Be ruthless or who knows when the swill merchants will turn our independent station into an industry of cool and dare I say commercial station. Save the Music... tell us what you want. Use your voice or what is it good for... absolutely nothing. thank you to bob marley, almost famous and war for inspiring this blog.
Thanks for reading and tune in all day every day for quality rock and real variety 105.3 WFIV

This is grim.
Also, "Dudre Can't Fail" is now labeled simply "Dudre."

Drove 30 miles to work, changed all the Jack Johnson and 3 Doors Down and shit in the morning playlist to Diacon-Panthers, Royal Bangs, New Order, Talking Heads and the Clash, decided I didn’t need to be at work, drove 30 miles home practicing my yodel. With hindsight: should have thrown some Steely in...?

A guy who does a talk show on the AM stations just leaned through the glass and said he was gonna make me a CD-R of "dirty" 78s. "Seriously, you can't play the first line of any of this stuff."

came in today to find 6 dudes, one who looked like a fantasy metal wizard-type, having some kind of metaphysical tournament in my booth (which is closet sized, btw). one was holding an enormous koran, a few holding bibles, etc. these guys got krispy kreme detritus ALL over the floor, and im like "HEY! how about you get outta my booth and debate the ethics of donut consumption...UPSTAIRS" (thumb jerk to the north). they did.
