i got a kindle fire for xmas and i have no idea how to use it. im trying to transfer pdfs and stuff that ive downloaded onto my pc to it, but it doesnt work. i guess i can only put stuff on it that ive gotten thru amazon??? is this true?!

i got a kindle paperwhite, a sheet pan, and a power drill.

roxy u can definitely move pdfs onto your kindle and they should work automatically. you can also convert epub + pdf files (sometimes) to mobi through calibre and then load the mobi file onto your kindle. if you plug your kindle into your computer you should see a documents folder in the main directory and pretty much any pdf you toss into the documents folder you can use on the kindle.

The Early Works of Peter Greenaway and Ilya Khrzhanovsky's 4 on DVD. A toaster oven from my parents and a load of amazing stuff from my girlfriend including a whisky tasting class.

i got a scarf and a gag gift from my gf's uncle that said "emergency contraception kit" that included some lube, a fascinating tiny condom (like TINY tiny, maybe half an inch wide - i think maybe it was just a really old condom that shrunk over time? does that happen?) and a note that said "for days when you don't feel like a magnum"
