in two weeks i have to accompany my grandmother, who has no idea who i am,* to {the so-called country where she is legally resident} in order to obtain her drukgz regimen for the next quarter.

*hence the prescription.

My Grandmother turns 87 tomorrow but she lives in Germany so we never get to hang. :-( Happy almost birthday Oma!

I fertilized my grandma's lawn yesterday, and she made me soup.

My grandmother died this last christmas eve.

The other one's still alive, she's I think 76 and she still does hands on farm work. She's pretty awesome.

aw walter, my ex's grandma died totally unexpectedly on xmas eve two years ago. it was hella traumatic.

she totally lived on her own and did remodeling work on her house with a cigarette hanging out the corner of her mouth. she was such a badass grandma.

My grandma came over today so we could have lunch and I could go put gas in her car.

I've got one grandparent left, my 84-year old grandmother who lives in Memphis. Here are some of her greatest hits:

Complaining about the mess in her house as guests visit after my grandfather's funeral
HER: G.P. would just die if he saw all of this!

HER: Why, these are some of the best sweet potatoes I've ever had?

Getting lost on her way to Jack LaLane do a fitness demonstration
HER: Can you tell me how to get to the downtown Holiday Inn?
GAS STATION CLERK: Well, do you know how to get back to Memphis?

I've been repainting my grandma's house. And kicking it with her p much every day.

We stopped by my Oma's house on the way to Baltimore. She and my grandpa just got back from going to the VFW hall to play cards with their friends. She made us meatloaf sandwiches and liverwurst sandwiches both on rye bread, with german pickles.

My grandmother was somewhat of a pioneer in the area of stealing your parents car to take a cross-country road trip. I wish I could have asked her about that.

My grandma wore jeans before ladies did that.

i called my grandma for the first time in a while on saturday. she just got moved from "independent living" to "assisted living" :-/

My mother-in-law did this.

I thought nothing of it since it was always cute animal pictures, but finally a few weeks ago, she wrote "So how are things in the Baker Senior household?"

r.i.p. my grandma

i got to kick it with her one last time, three weeks ago today. she was starting hospice that weekend so we both knew it'd probably be the last time we saw each other. she had all her marbles, so she could crack jokes and share memories and ask you about your life. not a bad way to kick it with grandma one last time.

she finally passed on this morning, and was comfortable and peaceful to the end. she would have been 92 next month.

i love you grandma! hope you're up there kicking it with grandpa!

sorry to hear, gr8080. i've always felt really happy that i was able to have a normal phone conversation w/ my grandmother about three days before she died.

Her neighbor is bringing her baked goods and offering to take her books to the library for her. And he invited her to his place to see a plant.

And he's living with a woman but he claims "they are not getting along and do their own thing."
