i knew i was lining myself up for that one, it was a risk worth making.

no. i have no experience of this at all. but thats the only reason why i could imagine any tail doing it.

I'm a fan of letting it run wild over the cold winter months to keep me warm. Trim back as necessary once light and warmth return to the world!
