Radiohead - OK Computer came out in 1997. That means that next year, the day I went round Captain Smash's house and we'd both bought copies the day it came out, well that will be 10 years ago.

Blur's Great Escape came out 11 years ago!

Prodigy's Firestarter was number 1 (get this) 10 years ago, so did Come To Daddy!!

I'm old!!

i remember starbursts being called opal fruits and snickers being called marathon bars. does that me old?

it makes you as old as us. so yes, you too are indeed old.

I am so old I remember finding it hilarious when marathon's became snickers's because it rhymed with knickers...

blizzard, Thursday, 30 March 2006 14:44 (nineteen years ago)

and there i was thinking i was the only one who found that funny. still do in fact. i've got older, but my level of humour has remained at a constant child-like state. oh yeah!

clocko diko (honesttoafault), Thursday, 30 March 2006 14:48 (nineteen years ago)

i thought everyone found the marathon/snickers transition funny didn't they? it was even part of the marketing campaign at the time.

also - opal fruits?! they only changed that to starburst a couple of years ago. i still call them that.

remember when the phoenix pub was good and called the tut and shive? and when the orchard and anvil was good and called the woolpack? and when the red hart was good and called the red hart?

does anyone remember Eastenders? what about KitKat Chunkys? pints of beer?

dog latin (dog latin), Thursday, 30 March 2006 14:54 (nineteen years ago)

I feel this way a lot, Wogan. Movies do it to me often as well, flipping through channels and seeing when some came out. Downer.

Ich remember when Tesco was where Next is, when Mrs Miller's was at the height of haute-cuisine in the town, and when Iceland was called Bejams, just like Keeshon's Dad...

You know you're old when you listen to stuff you totally can't relate to, and the only comment you can think to make is "it's got a good beat to it"

Twisted Thinka, Thursday, 6 April 2006 08:29 (nineteen years ago)
