Smashing,

Hello there young Sir.

Teev, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 08:58 (nineteen years ago)

What are pussy crumbs? Do all mothers have them?

ginweasel, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:00 (nineteen years ago)

I'm not sure Ginners, could you give us a bit more information on your Mum's pussy crumbs Frombert?

Cheers.

Teev, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:06 (nineteen years ago)

Rather disappointing, here I was hoping for at least some GARU G level amusement.

ALLAH FROG (Mingus Dew), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:24 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, maybe he's being 'shocking' on another board for a bit. He might pop in for tea again later.

Tev, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:31 (nineteen years ago)

Jokes, just Googled "frombert" and found this;

Frombert according to New city “ is a tall lanky fellow whose voice possesses both the ghostly timbre of a dark balladeer and the alluring but ultimately dangerous tone of a carnival huckster drawing you into a nightmarish freak show. The music – in part anchored by accordion and accented at different points by guitar, piano, organ and horns – echoes with a sullied innocence.”

Tev, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:44 (nineteen years ago)

THAT'S ME, BITCH.

FROMBERT, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:47 (nineteen years ago)

Think he uses the voice on the kiddies too?

ALLAH FROG (Mingus Dew), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:49 (nineteen years ago)

Who are you?

Captain Smash (Captain Smash), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:49 (nineteen years ago)

Fair enough. (bitch)

Tev, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:50 (nineteen years ago)

And what gives with the pussy crumbs?
We should be told!

I asked my mum and she doesn't think she has any, so I'm afraid your above suggestion isn't very viable. Plus even if she did know what they were, she's in Glasgow and I'm in London. Do they travel well?

ginweasel, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:52 (nineteen years ago)

ARE YOU A FUCKING DEAF FUCKING RETARD? MY NAME IS FROMBERT YA BIG BAG OF ASSHOLES! SAY MY NAME UH-HUH. WHAT'S MY NAME? F-R-O-M YOU FUCK MEN B-E-R-T FUCK A FLEA. YEH! THAT'S THE BUSINESS. NOW SUCK MY COCK BITCH.

FROMBERT, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:54 (nineteen years ago)

I think he's a bit slow. And about 12 years old by the sound of it.

Tev, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 09:57 (nineteen years ago)

Yes this is all very disappointing Bert, we were hoping for some education on the pussy crumb front and all you do is type insulting nonsense in upper case.
Can you actually read, or have you found a retarded nonsence generator?

ginweasel, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 10:00 (nineteen years ago)

Ha ha!!!

Tell us about the Mum-crumbs Bertie! You 'oser.

Tev, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 10:03 (nineteen years ago)

Who is this guy/girl?

Captain Smash (Captain Smash), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 10:33 (nineteen years ago)

MY NAME IS FROMBERT FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME!

FROMBERT, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 10:38 (nineteen years ago)

Tev, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 10:39 (nineteen years ago)

Captain Smash (Captain Smash), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 12:36 (nineteen years ago)

Wife, is it Ben on drugs? "Throw some shapes". I'm suspicious...

Capt Cardinali, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 19:56 (nineteen years ago)

That Frombert eh? Sheesh!

Captain Dog Latin (dog latin), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 23:23 (nineteen years ago)

SHEESH KEBABS

Captain Smash (Captain Smash), Thursday, 18 May 2006 07:00 (nineteen years ago)

Benno isn't allowed drugs anymore because of his brain remember wife, maybe it's someone else who is brain damaged? Also he has been pretending to be too busy at work to chat to me on gaymail (AS IF)so if he's got time to do drugs and workshy i'll be totally peeved.
What do you reckon to Bert though? I'd do him. ('though only with your permission of course.)

ginweasel, Thursday, 18 May 2006 07:37 (nineteen years ago)

That'll depend on whether he's gay, doesn't it? I think he's gay.

Capt Cardinali, Thursday, 18 May 2006 08:26 (nineteen years ago)

I reckon he's omnisexual, all comers welcomed by bert, he's very accomodating i hear.
Does your mum have pussy crumbs? I think you should ask her.

"you are just normal"
what kind of wanky emo pandering shite is that? Naval contemplation never had it so good.
Happy monday morning here in blooming bloomsbury. Maybe i'll cheer up later if someone dies or something.

ginweasel, Monday, 22 May 2006 10:06 (nineteen years ago)

I have died, happy now?

satan, Monday, 22 May 2006 10:10 (nineteen years ago)

don't worry, crying at the lyrics is perfectly normal.

idiotic it surely are. i am not crying at the lyrics, nay I am crying at the existence of a musical alleigance that feels the need to point out that music is emotional.

Well I enjoy Emo music, I think it's fun and it's nice that it hath a fashion-look to go with it.

Dwight Mugabe, Monday, 22 May 2006 12:05 (nineteen years ago)

WHAT U SCUMBACKS DON'T KNOW IS THAT EMO ISN'T JUST A STYLE OF MUSIC ITS A STATE OF MIND NOBODY IN THE HISTORY OF MUSIC MAKES MUSIC AS EMOTIONAL AS FALLOUTBOY SO YEH FUCK YOU.

Ho ho ho!

When an 'Emo-Kid' grows up does he'she become an 'Emo-Adult' or ~ what(s) and things plus stuff divided by junk to the power of Tev?

Dwight, Monday, 22 May 2006 12:40 (nineteen years ago)

it's the wording of that thing "don't worry, you're cool" - I AM SO WORRIED THAT I AM NORMAL!! WHAAA!

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 12:44 (nineteen years ago)

Eh?

WHAT THE PLOTE are you lot on 1-bout?

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 12:56 (nineteen years ago)

Where is that from any who/moog?

Dwight & Tev, Monday, 22 May 2006 13:01 (nineteen years ago)

it was on kelly's myspace page.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 13:04 (nineteen years ago)

It is awful, cause is it tongue in cheek, did the creators think there really are people out there like that? And the wanky font and the likkle stars and ooo don't know why but it enrages me something chronic. "just normal"- only just though, cause you're speshal as well, you have a delicate rare beautiful emo soul shining with a sparkling patina of tears.

ginweasel, Monday, 22 May 2006 13:06 (nineteen years ago)

"La la la, Jump in the car!

Drive round again, 5 more burgers!"

That's emotional.

Megan Mugabe, Monday, 22 May 2006 13:11 (nineteen years ago)

i don't think it's being ironic, but then again it's hard to tell these days. kelly reckons My Chemical Romance are being ironic. if so it's very subtle and very genius, if not then it's VERY LAME.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 13:18 (nineteen years ago)

Nope - its LAME (Lame ass motherfucking Emo)

Is FROMBERT Emo then?

Tev, Monday, 22 May 2006 13:53 (nineteen years ago)

dunno. don't think so.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:00 (nineteen years ago)

this thread doesn't seem to have much to do with Frombert anymore.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:01 (nineteen years ago)

which is a great shame
bring back bert!

ginweasel, Monday, 22 May 2006 14:04 (nineteen years ago)

no this thread is not about bert anymore, its about a genre of music that Wogan (and indeed most people in this country) has little to no understanding about.

although, chemical romance are shite, and they're defo not being tongue in cheek.

clocko diko (honesttoafault), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

lalalalalalaaaaa. Clocko, you can bang on about Fugazi and Rites of Spring all you like, but try telling that to the hordes of kids outside the Phoenix and they'll all be "huh!?" and then start crying because of a moth.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:13 (nineteen years ago)

i do have a real skeleton in my closet about "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" by MCR - I want to hate it but it's so hilarious and OTT that I kinda have to forgive it.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:13 (nineteen years ago)

Fugazi? Surely they're not "Emo?" I obviously don't kmmow what it is either.

Tev, Monday, 22 May 2006 14:16 (nineteen years ago)

fugazi are generally known as the original emo band tev.

and yeh, i don't know a whole lot about emo - i know fugazi are supposed to be good but the idea of middle-class urban white kids moaning about how heartbroken they are over wailing guitars doesn't really appeal to me. that said i won't write off that particular band, but what makes them so much better than all the nu-emo bands that are out at the moment? isn't it the same thing except older so it's perceived as more genuine?

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:18 (nineteen years ago)

so i'm asking clocks to educate me a bit here i guess?

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:18 (nineteen years ago)

Having slagged of EMO I'd be interested to know more about the scene as well - I apologise for offending any EMO fans without really knowing what it is.

Dont cry
Sinbad

Sinbad, Monday, 22 May 2006 14:24 (nineteen years ago)

emo is, or was, emotional hardcore. which is sort of a broad reference really, since there are a fuck load of hardcore bands. i think the definition was arrived at cos some hardcore bands stopped being all political, which hardcore had mostly been, and started writing other types of lyrics instead.

some people do regard fugazi as the 1st, but then thats only cos they stopped being so damn hardcore as they had been (see minor threat & teen idles) and chilled out. the songs are no less political than they had been. so i don't think you can call fugazi emo. i think most people see them as post-hardcore. they invented hardcore, then they invented what came after it.

but emo is a well old genre, nearly 20 years old, which has now been hijacked by a new generation, the same as what happens to most genres of music, by a bunch of rubbish bands singing about moany whiney topics and how they can't get a girl. there are many great emo bands that i love. and i hate to see them get tarnished by people who don't really know anything about the genre, or about hardcore in general, and just see whats put in front of them. bit naive really.

it is not acoustic in any way. lets get that out of the way.

what makes fugazi better then other bands? the fact that every album they ever made is incredibly good, using a wide base of influences, without ever actually repeating themselves from one album to the next. what makes old emo better than new emo? the fact you haven't heard any so you can't possibly make a comparison.

i remember you asking me if red house painters were emo!!! which was/is hilarious, since he's one of the best songwriters ever, plays an acoustic, does not moan and whine but sings about hitting his wife and being a drunk, and general is not at all hardcore. then you suggested bright eyes was emo. which is also hilarious. for even more obvious reasons.

clocko diko (honesttoafault), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:29 (nineteen years ago)

I know really;

Emo is a subgenre of punk music. Since its inception, emo has come to describe several independent variations, linked loosely but with common ancestry. As such, use of the term (and which musicians should be so classified) has been the subject of much debate.

In its original incarnation, the term emo was used to describe the music of the mid-1980s Washington, DC scene and its associated bands. In later years, the term emocore, short for "emotional ", was also used to describe the DC scene and some of the regional scenes that spawned from it. The term emo was derived from the fact that, on occasion, members of a band would become spontaneously and literally emotional during performances. The most recognizable names of the period included Rites of Spring, Embrace, One Last Wish, Beefeater, Gray Matter, Fire Party, and, slightly later, Moss Icon. The first wave of emo began to fade after the breakups of most of the involved bands in the early 1990s.

Starting in the mid-1990s, the term emo began to reflect the indie scene that followed the influences of Fugazi, which itself was an offshoot of the first wave of emo. Bands including Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas Is the Reason put forth a more indie rock style of emo, more melodic and less chaotic in nature than its predecessor. The so-called "indie emo" scene survived until the late 1990s, as many of the bands either disbanded or shifted to mainstream styles.

As the remaining indie emo bands entered the mainstream, newer bands began to emulate the more mainstream style, creating a style of music that has now earned the moniker emo within popular culture. Whereas, even in the past, the term emo was used to identify a wide variety of bands, the breadth of bands listed under today's emo is even more vast, leaving the term "emo" as more of a loose identifier than as a specific genre of music.

Tev, Monday, 22 May 2006 14:33 (nineteen years ago)

aha! And more here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo_(music)

Sinbad, Monday, 22 May 2006 14:33 (nineteen years ago)

i've seen both described as emo - even in that quiz. just goes to show. what is best fugazi album then and also other records you like that are supposed to be good?

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:38 (nineteen years ago)

(by both i mean bright eyes and red house painters - i think bright eyes prob came out of the indie emo scene and the fact he cries at gigs.)

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:39 (nineteen years ago)

Speaking of hilarious music arguments Clocko, do you remember when you tried to tell me that Johnny Cash wasn't country?

Teev, Monday, 22 May 2006 14:40 (nineteen years ago)

cheers for that tev. a good basic guide to emo. wish i could have written it that well.

steady diet of nothing. its their slowest album. if you have a smoke, then its especially excellent. you'd probably like red medicine the best. its their most experimental one. i also love their last one, the argument, which is the most poppy and easy to love.

rival schools - united by fate (not just a favourite emo album, but an all time favourite)

Converge - pretty much any of their albums, but you fail me hasn't come off my stereo since i 1st put it on a year ago.

embrace - embrace. not the indie band. before the indie band. also not northern.

Far- water & solutions

one last wish - which i think is self titled.

clocko diko (honesttoafault), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:52 (nineteen years ago)

and do you remember tev how after that i said how i just didn't want to imagine him as country cos it put me off, and accepted that he is country?

anyway, he covered ROCK songs at the end.

clocko diko (honesttoafault), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:54 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah well you saying that about country is exactly like what everyone has been saying about Emo innit.

I didn't write that Emo thing by the by, I don't know nuffing about nuffink.

Tev, Monday, 22 May 2006 14:57 (nineteen years ago)

i know that you didn't write it, i just wish i could have been as concise and precise. but i cannot. alas EMOTION gets the better of me!

country is rubb'. you name one other good country star? go on, i dare you. he's only popluar cos he covered ROCK songs, and everyone knows it.

clocko diko, Monday, 22 May 2006 15:00 (nineteen years ago)

i have converge - didn't know it was counted as emo - more metalcore but i guess these genre subdivisions are all a bit gay anyway.downloading rival schools and red medicine now.

slim whitman and leonard nimoy did a couple of good country songs.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 22 May 2006 16:44 (nineteen years ago)

That's bullsh' Clocko, I like his oldest stuff the best.

Jane Mugabe, Tuesday, 23 May 2006 07:23 (nineteen years ago)

fair enough tev mate, i prefer the latter stuff, but i guess its just a question of taste. either way, he is quality.

wogan - i thought converge were metal-core. and then i went to see them. and the singer got extremely emotional on stage. then i read his lyrics, and a lot of songs are very emotionally written. some of my mates call them emo. but i really don't know. i 100% agree that all the subdivisions of music are completely gay. i guess that where i get touchy about emo, which now bares almost no resemblance to the emo i feel in love with as a kid. its just a name that got hi-jacked.

clocko diko (honesttoafault), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 07:38 (nineteen years ago)

i downloaded embrace, rival schools and fugazi's "repeater". they all sound very similar texturally on precursory listens, and to be honest I couldn't hear anything y'know, "emotional" in there but then I didn't really pay much attention to the lyrics. I'm still not sure if this is a kind of music I could really get into but then I'm not very punk so I'm probably missing something. I'll carry on listening and let you know what I make of it.

dog latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 07:54 (nineteen years ago)

thats exactly what i don't get about emo - the older stuff doesn't sound like the modern stuff. it bears almost no resemblance. things like my chemical romance sounds laughable. and fall out boy, they really make me giggle.

fugazi take time mate. took me ages. but i often find the best albums are the ones that take some time to get into. there's so much depth to fugazi albums as well.

clocko diko (honesttoafault), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 08:08 (nineteen years ago)

To me Emo stands for a fashion style more than a type of music now. A lot of the so called Emo kids wear Ramones/Misfits/Crass tops, and I wouldn't say that any one of those bands are Emo, but the kids i've seen wearing them are defo "Emo", so to me it's more a style of fashion, like "Greebo","Raver","Chav","Mod","Rocker". I don't think it's really much about the music anymore, only to start with.

satan, Tuesday, 23 May 2006 08:20 (nineteen years ago)

you might well be right mate. i'm gonna stop defending it now. there's not a lot of point. its just a different thing to what it used to be.

clocko diko (honesttoafault), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 08:30 (nineteen years ago)

Yeep, I agree with Clatterton. It's bullsh'.

Tev, Tuesday, 23 May 2006 08:31 (nineteen years ago)

clayton is right there.
