Oh! Hang on!

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 04:07 (nineteen years ago)

I was BUSY!

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 04:15 (nineteen years ago)

Ok so CAMP is amazing. I am a counsellor! I get to put on silly voices and play football and get free food and generally be the Big Silly English friend of loads of 7-15 year old kids, it's awesome. My favourite camper just left and I am wearing a GOTH WRISTBAND she gave me from HOT TOPIC. Hot Topic! This country cracks me up. They do the crazy dating thing also, like in movies! FROM ELEVEN. On occasion they have been known to play rock-paper-scissors with their friends for the right to ask someone out, which is mental and genius. Generally they are not as fat as you would think but some are pretty fat. Also they are kinda bratty and say "our parents pay you to let us stay up/eat chocolate" etc etc blah spoiled brats. I really like this job.

Also this camp is supercrazy, all the staff are kinda awesome freaks, starting with the Top Boss who is literarily incoherent-crazy to point of not being able to finish one sentence he starts, not exagerrating honest, he forgets them halfway through and veers off somewhere else and wears speedos and stuff. Like we have a WILD MAN OF THE WOODS and a HEMINGWAYAN HERO OF MANLINESS and WICCAN HIPPIE TYPES and TEN-PIN BOWLING CHAMPS and Coach who is this megacool Wisconsin lesbian lady with tattoos and stuff that prettymuch all the staff & older campers (especially the girls) get drawn into this fascinated erotic orbit around, it is sorta amazing to see.

NOIZE makes sense here! It totally does, I bought a LIGHTNING BOLT album & it is great. I listen to that and THE LOUVIN BROTHERS. That Gareth! Dance music makes no sense at all though, I'm not sure why.

I went to Boston! I didn't think that much of it though - it ws sorta too European?

I have not traveled very much really but now that there is this thread I will use it to update y'all! How is NORTH HERTS?

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 04:49 (nineteen years ago)

What area is said camp in?

Tumililingan (ex machina), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 06:10 (nineteen years ago)

Also, I am glad you are enjoying AMERICA and my favorite hometown band LIGHTNING BOLT.

Tumililingan (ex machina), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 11:44 (nineteen years ago)

Sounds like Greg is having amazing fun. Yeh, Lightning Bolt rules - did you get Wonderful Rainbow? Have to catch them live!

North Herts is same as ever - it's raining a lot this week and that's about it. But but, me and Kelly (battlingspacemonkey) are off on our holidays to the south of France in less than two weeks and we will no-doubt come back healthy and tanned-looking.

dog latin (dog latin), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 13:25 (nineteen years ago)

Camp is near Charlton, MA!

Awesome, about France! You and yr posh bilingual speaking, you.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:07 (nineteen years ago)

Gravel,

Are you at a fat camp or is it just a regular camp with fat kids?

jergins (jergins), Friday, 29 July 2005 07:01 (nineteen years ago)

It's in America.

dog latin (dog latin), Friday, 29 July 2005 14:23 (nineteen years ago)

And British people have bad teeth.

I'm Hi, Jared Fogle (ex machina), Saturday, 30 July 2005 16:14 (nineteen years ago)

yes

dog latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 07:22 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah it's true! I have pretty OK teeth back home, here they are considered AWFUL bcz one is sorta wonky. Those wacky cultural differences, those.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 23:17 (nineteen years ago)

Americans cheat by sticking those little white chiclet things on.

dog latin (dog latin), Saturday, 6 August 2005 12:36 (nineteen years ago)

four weeks pass...
My tRAVEls just got loads ravier! I have been ADOPTED by HIPPIES and VAGRANTS, Seattle is full of adventure and fun. I want to go to a candyrave and report back, that might be dead funny.

Charlie & Kelly, how was FRANCE?

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Sunday, 4 September 2005 03:38 (nineteen years ago)

It rocked man! Very relaxing and we met some weird old Toulousian guy who decided to just talk rubbish about his eye operation to us in a heavy Midi accent (no, nothing about TB303's, Midi is an area in the south of France) while we were waiting for a bus. But yeh it was rad.

Glad to hear you're doing okay. So you're still travelling round the states huh? You met up with the Noize crew yet? You gonna?

If you do go to a candy rave let me know... I'm kind of obsessed with how much it differs from UK sludgeraving. TBH I haven't been to a rave since that reclaim the streets one way back when but I'm DJing in Hitchin on Friday so I guess that could be treated as a mini rave.

dog latin (dog latin), Wednesday, 7 September 2005 14:58 (nineteen years ago)

I didn't rave, in the end. I'd had A Bad Experience from when I was homeless in Seattle and I couldn't really face it even though it would have been a really awesome experience, I vaguely regret not going now even though I couldn't have afforded anything, probably even to get in.

I went to Montreal and I saw Habitat 67 and I saw Wolf Eyes and I might have a girlfriend, now - things are fragilely perfect. I still don't want to come home.

Seriously, this is the most beautiful building I've ever been to, you walk around it and these amazing views of the city just explode out from nowhere. Plus - cubes!

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Monday, 26 September 2005 20:11 (nineteen years ago)

Oh my god! That is cool! For years I've been doodling weird cubes within cubes that look quite similar to this. What purpose does this building serve and where is it?

dog latin (dog latin), Wednesday, 28 September 2005 13:28 (nineteen years ago)

one year passes...
It's in Montreal!

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 28 September 2006 19:33 (eighteen years ago)

I WANT TO LIVE THERE!
