KING LEWIS.

Safe Ginners!

I arrived home yeaterday to find a parcel with a small King in it. He's Far-out man! And to my delight he's a darky!!!

I took him to my Lee's house last night and compared him with Massive King Louis, they are practically identical except the detailing on the side of their chairs is a bit different. They seemed to get on well enough though.

I took a photo of them but it was night time so you couldn't really see them very well (Darkys) but I will take a picture of them in day light and "whack 'em on". Nice one for sending him to me! I won't have to try and jack-move the big one now. I'm still gonna try though, gansta till ya die innit.

Crazy stuff, giant replica most interesting, wonder where from. Wonder if they're still making them. Wonder if the manufacturers can be sued retrospectively for license fees.
Glad you likes him tevla, the original non white set would have been red, but for some reason it was decided to go mitt black. whaetver, arbitary is as arbitary does.

Yeah, I found these two bad boys earlier. Are they the original ones? Me Ma told me that the reproductions were really popular in the 70s and loads of people had them.

The originals are these:

They have traces of red pigment on them leading pple to think that the contrast set wld have been red.
The above look like they're made of resin, possibly by a competitor as they look a little slapdash moulded- but who knows.

- the only true set on the market!

Cool, bit downers that it's got Harry Plotter on the box though.

I dunno where massive King came from, I'll have to ask Selko's creator where she bought him from. She probably bought him from an antiques fair or something though so it's probably not much help. He looks pretty old though. It would be jokes if she nicked him from a massive chess set and there's a King missing now!

Oh yeah, last week I found 2 of those chess sets in a charity shop! They were £15 each or something though. Might go and buy one at lunch time now I think of it....

ginweasel, Wednesday, 19 July 2006 09:09 (eighteen years ago)

Er... Nope. Cancer store I think. Is there some is Save the kids too? Also, how do you know? You don't live here.

Teeeel, Wednesday, 19 July 2006 09:14 (eighteen years ago)

They're selling new sets in one of the surbigay ones, could be save the cancer but think it's kids.
I know because I reported them Hitler Youth style- but it's okay they got them legally.
Are these 2nd hand then wot you is seen?

ginweasel, Wednesday, 19 July 2006 09:17 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're 2nd/3rd hand, they're just lying in a box with some junk. They don't normally do that with new stuff do they so I reckon they must be old.

tent-O-matic, Wednesday, 19 July 2006 09:27 (eighteen years ago)

I still havn't questioned Selko's Ma about where Big King came from, be pretty sick if I could get hold of one!

Teeeeeeeeeee, Wednesday, 19 July 2006 09:49 (eighteen years ago)

There is only one real King Lewis (Fat boy variety). The players from Highfield know the score!
