A bit, not that much. Why? You trying to flog a tent or something?

Tent Master, Tuesday, 11 July 2006 08:20 (eighteen years ago)

i don't get it at all. have you ever sold or bought anything on there? how do you find things you like? did you set up a paypal account? if not then how did you pay? if so did you really wait 3-5days and then phone your bank to fidn out how much money they'd put in your account to verify that it exists? how did you get your item to sell? didn't the whole fucking site layout put you off visiting it?

everyone reckons it's a really easy site to use but it seems ridiculously complicated to me!

Er... I dunno. You have to set up an account. I havn't got one so when I buy junk Clayton/Golly/Clocko have always bought it for me on there account but yeah, it does use paypal. It's easy to find stuff though, you just write key words in the search box and 'search'. There are sub catagories too so for example if you were looking for a tent you write tent in the search box then select 'camping equiptment' or what ever and then 'search'. I don't really see how you could get confused by it. Is your keyboard upside-down?! I did that once, very confusing. Also, make sure your souris has a ball in it. (unless it's a lazer one.

What are you looking for anyway? A 2-man EuroHike D1220?

what is the problem pd? e bay was designed for the express purpose of parting morons from their moneys, that's how i can use it.

ginweasel, Tuesday, 11 July 2006 09:20 (eighteen years ago)

okay... this is what happened

Yesterday:

Looked for a black shirt. Typed "Black shirt".
Got a load of crap, a few black shirts, a lot of purple ones and lots and lots of men's briefs.
A search for "nice black shirt" or "decent black shirt" returns little else good.
Scrap that, searched for a CD by Growing. This time Katy was helping me and she said I had to "watch" the item on ebay as it still had 9 days to go. I didn't know this, neither did it tell me to on the website.
So impatiently today I bid on a nirvana cd and won
So I set up a Paypal account and it says I need to verify (or whatever) but I don't need to.
So back into eBay, and press "Pay Now" and it takes me to Paypal and says I need to enrol.
To enrol, Paypal charge me £1 and then send me two lots of money to my account. Except they wait 3-5 days before they do that.
I don't have online banking and the bank send statements to my dad's house.
So I apply for internet banking (a rigmarole in itself)
But when I look at my statement, nothing from Paypal. Not surprising since they take 3-5 days.
So I have to wait ages for a special number (which I'll probably forget they sent me as I have enough to think about right now) while some poor sod is waiting around for his money.

It's taken DAYS to do, and yet everyone I know is banging on about how simple and easy it is to use this service... what am I missing here?

It might be different for Dog-Bay...

Also

"A search for "nice black shirt" or "decent black shirt" returns little else good."

These might be slightly subjective search terms.
Try going into menswear and searching by size. It's all down the left hand side of the screen.

I had loads of grief getting my paypal account setup aswell, but all good now, and now I'm spending loads of money I don't have, on loads of shite I don't need!

Twisted Thinka, Wednesday, 12 July 2006 12:53 (eighteen years ago)

How do you, of all people, not understand a webpage that is all about JUNK, Wogan?! Only way it could be worse is if it were ol' Tev complaining.
