All Tomorrow's Parties Festival in May - WHO'S GOING?!

Okay, it looks like I'm going to try and book a ticket to this festival on the second weekend at Camber Sands http://www.atpfestival.com/events/line_up.php?event=23

19th-22nd of May. The tickets aren't exactly cheap (£125) but it's got a fraggin excellent line up (Boredoms AND Lightning Bolt on the same day!!!) plus you get chalets and stuff so it would be like a proper holiday. I haven't been before but i've only ever heard good things from people who have. Plus, I mean - Lightning Bolt ffs!!

Obviously, it would be nicer to share a chalet with people I know - (they have 4 to 8 berth chalets) so if anyone's up for coming to this thing then please let me know as soon as you can. I'll probably be booking the tickets on pay day at the end of this month. It would be wicked if we all went down, even if you don't know all the bands on there it would be a laugh anyway.

Anyhow, have a look at the website and let me know if you want to come. If you let me know by the end of the week then i'll be able to start implementing tickets and stuff.

two weeks pass...
Gravel Puzzleworth, are you still thinking of going to this? Hitchin lot'er being a bit lightweight and I need to gather up at least 3 other people to share a chalet with. If I am going I'm gonna buy a ticket soon. Mayeb it's worth asking on ILX?

Let me know if you're interested.

Hitchin-ers you won't be disappointed by this. They have go-karting, arcade machines and the pub is open till 5am, plus of course excellent bands and you get showers and a cooker and EVERYTHING!

I still want to go, I'll see if I can get anyone I know involved. I wish they'd put more than two bands I like on the lineup! If we get a good chalet together it won't matter, atp is the art of going down to the beach and being drunk.

ILX is an idea.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 00:22 (eighteen years ago) link

i asked on ILX. some guy, sean gramaphone is organising a chalet. It's an idea, but I reckon we must be able to find at least one other person each and get our own.

The line up is amazing - particularly the second day!!!

You're right, I am going to this. Let's get it sorted, Latin.

I love Sean Gramaphone's mp3 blog to total bits - I'll probably corner him at some drunken point and shout about Abigail Lappell. We should still be able to manage one person each!

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 11:31 (eighteen years ago) link

ihaven't read it, maybe i should.

Cool man, I'll try and get tickets asap - do you got money?

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 15:11 (eighteen years ago) link

I have an overdraft! That's virtually the same thing.

Said The Gramaphone is good is you like really frail indiepop, Cat Power sort of stuff? Do you like Cat Power?

i've heard a couple of tracks, namely cross-bones style and sea of love. it was ok. i think those dudes may be going to a different weekend fromt he one i want to go. i'm personally more interested in NOIZE (and joanna newsom). Have you heard Dungen yet?

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 31 January 2006 18:46 (eighteen years ago) link

actually it's uncanny how many bands are on here that I've been really getting into over the last year. cool grav - I'm going to start pestering everyone again. If you can find one or two or more people to go down then we can get this show on the road.

it looks okay but i don't think i'd be able to go to that one. Wouldn't mind seeing Oneida live though!

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Wednesday, 1 February 2006 11:29 (eighteen years ago) link

Weekend two will have better Young People I think! (I love Devendra but Lightning Bolt are a deal breaker y'all)

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 2 February 2006 11:45 (eighteen years ago) link

yeh, there are quite a lot of good bands on weekend one but the Devendra factor might make for a slightly odd audience (I do love Devendra though).

I'm trying to twist arms as I type.

Shall we just get a four-person and sort it out then? Lightning bolt!

I am increasingly sure I can get people to go. I have not yet actually tested this theory out on actual people, mind.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Friday, 3 February 2006 00:17 (eighteen years ago) link

cool, ok

i don't know if i'll have the moeny to book a four-person by myself. How do ya wanna do it?

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Friday, 3 February 2006 11:52 (eighteen years ago) link

MELVINS
WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM

Anyone else going?
