I happily recall his comedy roles on the early 90s WWF video compilations. He went bowling with Kamala, did some DIY with the Bushwackers, and went to a sushi restaurant with Yokozuna. What a hero.

Actually, it was Gene Okerlund who went to a sushi restaurant with Yokozuna. I retract my earlier statement: Hayes was a cunt.

He was entertaining in certain situations, but his match commentary was god-awful. He was like their third-string color guy back in the late '80's, partnered up with, I think, Sean Mooney, who apparently didn't spend all of his time sitting in front of monitors and editing decks. If you heard Mooney and Lord Al calling a match, you knew there was absolutely no reason to keep on watching.
