Tanahashi vs Okada was everything I could have hoped for.
I haven't watched NJPW regularly in years, but I guess it makes sense to make Yota Tsuji the top guy. He's got something, maybe not a "carrying the company on his back for years" kind of something, but I found his young lions class to be fairly boring, so I guess he's the one you take your shot with.

Yota was always my favorite from his class, though they really tried to make Shota the next guy (I really do feel bad for him that it didn't take in the way they had hoped). I'm selfishly glad because it led to the Goto title reign that I had been wanting for years.

Yep, I didn't get the logic there either. For most of the past decade they've completely lost the plot when it comes to booking Rumbles. There's no story, it's just 1) somebody comes out and runs wild, 2) they get cut off, 3) everyone stands around and waits for the next entrant, 4) repeat. Especially in the women's Rumble.
That said, Liv winning was cool.

I'm not 100% sure how much pull/booking power Saudi Arabia has over WWE for a match like that. I know that there were stories of how they requested certain wrestlers who were retired/no longer alive for the first show they hosted.
