SHELTON'S MAMA IS HERE!

THE CHAMP IS BOOED! (again)

I really hope they insist on keeping Cena as a face because these crowd reactions are fascinating.

Strangely enough, I finally saw Shawn vs Sid from Survivor Series 1996 ... same deal!

"Honey, I'm so sorry about your period pains!"

The FU is such a crappy soft-looking finisher that TSN doesn't even bother censoring it when Cena hit Lita with it.

alex in montreal (alex in montreal), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 04:09 (nineteen years ago)

did they censor lita's titties?!??!?!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 14:49 (nineteen years ago)

hmm, that's what it was... they went to crowd shots, but i was guessing that it was because of suggestions of oral sex.

alex in montreal (alex in montreal), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 17:05 (nineteen years ago)

well it was only a quick flash before they moved the towel back (maybe it was an accident) but yeah the oral sex thing (you can only see blankets really)

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 17:28 (nineteen years ago)

I thought it was censored in the US and Canada but not in the UK?

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

UK censorship on Raw is a lot more stringent than in the US. Both HLA and Trish being made to bark by McMahon were censored, alongside... other stuff I forget.

I'm guessing Ken C has seen an internet d/l of Raw though, considering Raw hasn't aired here yet.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 19:57 (nineteen years ago)

nope! i watched it 2am on monday night!

there was a flash of a boob. it lasted all of a second unless i actually imagined it in my lita fantasy :D

It was a very obvious and clear slip. You could hear the crowd pop (bad choice of words?) because it was up on the big screen at the arena. The cameraman quickly panned away before the director switched shots. Coach and King started laughing and made that "we're live!" comment.

Warning: it makes no sense

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 11 January 2006 06:10 (nineteen years ago)

Sorry, WORLD champion.

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 11 January 2006 06:11 (nineteen years ago)

At least it isn't Mark Henry.

ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!! (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Wednesday, 11 January 2006 07:02 (nineteen years ago)

What faint praise!

I have no problem with this guy being champion, but the logic in how they did this makes absolutely no sense.

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 11 January 2006 09:27 (nineteen years ago)

oh man. i wonder! i haven't clicked the link. i'm disappointed that it isn't mark henry though.

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 11 January 2006 10:40 (nineteen years ago)

I didn't rule out Mark Henry's STANK.

ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!! (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Wednesday, 11 January 2006 14:23 (nineteen years ago)

This could make sense if they simply ended the brand split already. They've done so much crossover stuff at this point that the distinction between the seperate entities is practically non-existent. That doesn't mean that every wrestler woudld then have to appear on both shows, you could still primarily show certain guys on Smackdown and others on Raw.
It's too bad about Batista though, even though I never want to see any of his matches a second time, he has been doing a very good job with his character and in the main event spot.

theodore (herbert hebert), Wednesday, 11 January 2006 20:45 (nineteen years ago)

They should have put the SD title on the line at the Royal Rumble. It would have made perfect sense within the storylines (jumping to another brand is logical because Rumble winners get to choose which champion they will fight at Mania) and added extra intrigue to the match.

Either the booking committee were too dumb to come up with this themselves (entirely possible), or they are locked into a storyline where the Rumble winner faces the RAW champion (more likely). This would essentially confirm that they're booking Cena vs HHH at Mania, with HHH winning the Rumble and Cena regaining the belt from Edge on the same show.

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 12 January 2006 01:32 (nineteen years ago)

two weeks pass...
Brutal RR. The worst in years. There were so many bad things about this show, booking-wise and wrestling-wise.

-- booking the entire match order around the need for Undertaker to perform a new magic trick
-- quick eliminations for guys that the crowd wanted to root for (Flair, Lashley, Chavo, etc.) in order to not detract from the Hunter and Rey show, leading to an untterly boring (and clogged) 2nd half of the match
-- Mark Henry in the main event and using said main event (of the 2nd biggest PPV of the year) to build to a match happening next month at a meaningless PPV
-- Edge dropping the title
-- the women's match (made bearable only by Mickie James' amazing charisma and carrying abilities)
-- still not digging the Boogeyman

HHH vs Cena is clearly on for Mania, and Rey is supposedly going to lose his title shot to Randy Orton somehow. Hey dipshits, if that's the match you wanted, WHY NOT HAVE ORTON WIN THE RUMBLE? Orton comes out at #30, eliminates Rey who has been in the match since the start (a very heelish way to win), Rey still gets put over huge by lasting until the end, etc.

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Monday, 30 January 2006 07:20 (nineteen years ago)

I would have booked Orton to win. But they have to do "Rey's tribute to Eddie" somehow.

I don't think people have realised how incredible Rey Rey's Rumble win is. Guys, it's a CRUSIERWEIGHT winning the Royal Rumble. Since when has Vinny Mac booked Crusierweights strongly, let alone over the big men?

Anyway, the rest of it sounds complete dreck. Oh great, The Undertaker makes the ring collapse. And rides on a white horse? OH MY GOD DUSTIN RHODES IS COMING BACK AS SEVEN...uh, so he came back at Goldust? Never mind.
