Let's give this a try ... if anyone else is watching live, feel free to vent here. And throughout the week if you're not watching live.

That first match sucked. That was 20 minutes of hammering home one message over and over and over -- HHH IS A MEAN GUY.

In regard to Orton I see we've moved onto the next chapter of the Make a Babyface Today!! manual. Last week was the "Make him Overcome Devastating Injuries and Come Back to Win a Tag Team Match Simultaneously" chapter. This week it's the "Make Him Overcome Tremendous Odds By Having to Wrestle Lots and Lots of Extra Matches en Route to Chasing the Title" chapter.

I'm looking forward to the Diva party. It might be funny.
And wtf, no Bossman tribute?

Speaking of funny, here are the Continuing Adventures of Lita and Kane.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 00:36 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lita-Kane angle is now this close to being worse than the Katie Vick angle.

No what am I saying, nothing was worse than the Katie Vick angle.

WHAT ??????
They're going to job Val to a guy who isn't going to be on the show after next week? Why do they feel the need to build up Snitsky?

And JR's like "Val Venis is a first-rate superstar". He hasn't even been on RAW for months! Are we supposed to think that Snitsky's some kind of serious threat.

This show is shit.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 00:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Seriously, this might have been the worst hour of programming I've ever seen on RAW.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 00:52 (twenty-one years ago)

The show is now worth watching ... what a promo by Flair and Orton.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 01:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Good tag match ... bad finish though. Entertaining 2nd hour thus far. We even had some comedy in the form of the Batista-HHH "Testosterone Boileth Over" segment.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 01:26 (twenty-one years ago)

The show has gone to shit again. That'll teach me to dole out compliments.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 01:53 (twenty-one years ago)

That was such ass. Flair's turn (if you can call it that) was obvious once he came out and stared down HHH because EVERY fake turn ever works like that.
They could have gotten weeks worth of mileage out of a "is Flair's loyal?" story and put an interesting twist into the Orton-Evo feud. Instead it's "HHH outsmarts everyone yet again, and that's why he's the cerebral assassin".

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 02:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I assume they were building up Snitsky so that the upcoming confrontation with Kane looks less like the most predictable beatdown in wrestling history. Venis's only appearances in Raw in ages have all been obvious jobbing from the moment he's announced.

I wonder if they really will be able to persuade the fans to vote Orton into a title match ahead of Benoit and Michaels? They're playing him as the top face, but I'm not sure they've sold it yet.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 2 October 2004 13:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought Edge was injured anyway, and they did the big THE MICHAELS-HHH FEUD IS OVER FOREVER BECAUSE OF THE CELL MATCH thing a few months ago. Why would they want to put them straight back in a bog-standard title match? It seems like people will probably vote for Michaels anyway.

Unless it's rigged, which it probably will be.
