It was cool but I got a little tired of all these kickouts following moves that should legitimately paralyze a person. It doesn't make it more dramatic, just faker.

I wish. I have DirecTV.

I've only seen a few ROH matches on YouTube, but I can understand the kickouts thing: no-selling, and matches that are essentially just strings of high-spots with no psychology, get old really quickly.

Yeah, me too, and the main thing I like about what I've seen so far is that you can hear all the shit the wrestlers and the ref yell at each other, heckles from fans, etc. And no play by play, which I don't even miss. Did the PPV have announcers?
Here's a couple of examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5hbIpFUtM4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNWdO-lXG_k

Thanks for those links. One thing I really like about ROH is their presentation -- they look very professional despite their presumably meagre budget. The branding is spot on, the ring looks great (I'd even guess it was a former WCW ring but for the turnbuckle pads, which look a bit too big).

The PPV had announcers. I do agree about them having their own look, which is a big plus. It's just that on one hand, you can have a mean-looking clothesline or elbow or knee finish a match (as it should), but dropping someone on their head is predictably a two-count.
I think the biggest offenders are the Briscoes, whereas the KENTA/McGuiness/Danielson bunch have excellent high spots but with a bit more realism added to the context.
I do wish that they'd go all the way with the "sporting" feel and remove all these backstage vignettes that still make me feel like I'm watching rasslin'.

Should I buy the DVD of this? y/n http://www.rohwrestling.com/shoponline.asp?point=moreinfo&catid=187&id=2323
Or should I get something older that's supposed to be good like Supercard of Honor?

I didn't see this show, but heard it wasn't the best. So yeah, probably better to get one of their better shows if you haven't seen any - Glory By Honor V, Night II is probably the best whole show, but you might do better with one that has a MOTYC on it (Punk/Joe II, Joe v Kobashi, or Unified with everyone's favourite Danielson/McGuinness fight, even though I preferred the rematch at Epic Encounter II).

So there's another one, ROH Driven. I still can't watch it. :/
