Dom Passantino's views from six hours spent watching The Wrestling Channel

427 on digital. I watched Pro Wrestling Noah, GAEA, ROH, FWA, NWA: Wildside, and MLW.

I like:

- This woman in GAEA who has rapidly become my favourite thing in wrestling ever. She dresses like a Pokemon, has clown face paint on, and does the traditional "comedy match" slot on the Japanese card. She has a little pouch from which she brings out wacky items, such as an Elroy Jetson hat which she refuses to fight unless she's wearing, a donut, apple juice, and other such zany things. Seriously, Vincent K could do with watching this woman, who's name I don't know, for instruction on how to do a comedy match.

- Urban Assault Squad. NWA: Wildside tag-team doing the racist black guy gimmick. They have a Cracka Challenge, lynch their opponents, and led to a chant of "white power" from the crowd. Well that's just great. Their theme tune was Dead Prez- "Hip Hop" as well.

- The fact that the host of FWA's TV show is the spitting image of Rick Astley.

- The Sinister Minister. Still the best manager in wrestling, bar none. Led his charge Mikey Whipwreck to a win over Sabu, released a fireball and then did a Bill Alfonso impression. Nice.

I don't like:

-NWA Wildside. They all have shitty names, like "Fabulous" John McChesney and "Kool" Seth Delay. And no charisma.

- The level of acting by the women in FWA. Nikita may be hittable, Jane Childs may be tappable, but neither of them are going to be confused with Judi Dench at any time in their near future.

- Pro Wrestling Noah. A Japanese wrestling match: fifteen minutes of staring at each other, then the finish move is a suplex.

I watched some TNA today - it seems the best show on the channel, though I am still at a loss to comprehend Jeff Jarrett's stardom, as I have yet to see him wrestle a good bout.

I think the fact that the federation owner is Jerry Jarrett may have something to do with it. Plus he's the only guy not signed to a WWE contract and is still of decent wrestling age who has worked a WWE main event feud.

AJ Styles is my boy, though, even if he does look a bit like Ashton Kutcher.

I never saw him in the WWE, and didn't know he'd been there. I'd seen him in the NWA a couple of years ago, mostly as their champ, and then recently in TNA, and I've not seen any good wrestling from him - less so than Styles, Raven and loads of others there. He doesn't seem anything special as an out-of-ring performer either - again, less impressive a talker than Raven, say.
