I was flipping through some tapes over the weekend and the Best of RAW special was on tonight, so the next thing you know, I'm starting a thread where we list our favourite matches of the year.
HHH vs HBK vs Benoit (WM XX). Upon initial viewings, I thought the Backlash rematch was better, but I gradually changed my mind. This match is tighter, and has a better finish (although the Backlash finish was great as well). Even though I know it's coming, the finish is always unexpected -- watching HHH tap out clean to the crossface in the main event of Mania blows my mind every time.
Royal Rumble match. I love the Rumble, and this one was one of the best.
HBK vs Benoit (World Title, RAW May 3). Fantastic match until the HHH run-in finish.
Flair, Batista, Orton vs Benoit, Edge, Jericho (elimination tag match, RAW June 14). What a fantastic year for long, PPV-quality RAW main events (even better than 2001 in that regard). There were a million main event faces vs Evolution members tag matches this year, and almost all of them were really good. Funny how Benoit was the winner in the all the matches I've listed thus far.
Eddie Guerrero vs Brock Lesnar (WWE Title, No Way Out). I wanted an Eddie match in here somewhere, and we might never see Brock again so I'll give him props here. A great little man vs big man match, with some smart psychology and a fairly clean finish!

I'm too drunk to do this properly at the moment, but
I agree with most of those, especially WM20 (I think that will probably be my one permanently enduring Mark-out Moment) although I can't remember the elimination tag one that much - was it the one where Batista looked like he maimed Jericho with that lariat? Cos if so, yeah.
Other matches that will rank high in my list are Benjamin vs Christian from Survivor Series (like, was it just me or was this REALLY FUCKING GOOD?), and the second Guerrero-Angle match at Summerslam (oddly, I ended up liking the second Angle-Lesnar match from Summerslam 2003 better as well).

The elimination tag was on the RAW that ran waaaaay overtime because Spike TV ran a bigass Joe Schmo commercial during it, so WWE got permission to do a superlong overrun. They filled it with said 30-something minute main event. It's not the one where Jericho gets maimed, I think that was a couple of weeks before.
I haven't seen Benj v Xtian or Angle-Eddie II. The latter would have to be pretty awesome to beat out Angle-Eddie I.
I was supposed to go to Summerslam this year, my brother and I bought tickets but I ended up having to go to a conference and I couldn't go. He was hanging out in the parking lot afterward and a lot of wrestlers were there, including EDDIE IN HIS LOWRIDER! Damn.

I've seen clips of Burchill (sp?) doing shit like belly-to-belly-suplexing TWO PEOPLE AT ONCE and that man is scary as fuck. Is he in OVW now?
