No Way Out: does anyone care?

I'd decided I wouldn't fork out for this one, but as it happens it's on Sky Sports rather than PPV, so I will watch it. Obviously they are building to Cena-JBL for Mania, so Show won't win, but they'll have to be kind of creative to work a screw-job in a steel cage topped with barbed wire, at least. I can barely remember what other events are involved - Eddie and Rey for the tag titles, but whatever the result it seems this is part of the plot for Eddie's turn, so it seems a bit moot.

Kurt Angle and John Cena might be OK, they had a very good match in 2003.

It seems a bit unprofessional the way they've pretty much started to build to JBL as champ at Mania with the Batista stuff, seeing as they're supposed to be trying to get people to buy a PPV where he's GUARANTEED TO LOSE THE BELT TO THE SEVEN FOOT FIVE HUNDRED POUND BIG SHOW etc.

Both of the WM main events are probably going to suck balls, really. Having Kurt Angle win the belt at the Rumble and keeping Cena vs Angle til Mania might've been better. Although, Angle vs Michaels sounds a bit too good to pass up.

(Like you, I don't care, but it's free and I'll be up late)

BARBED WIRE STEEL CAGE MATCH - WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
WWE Champion JBL vs. Big Show

Undertaker vs. Luther Reigns

NO. 1 Contender Tournament Final
Kurt Angle vs. John Cena

WWE Tag Team Championship
Tag Team Champions The Basham Brothers vs. Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero

Six-Man Cruiserweight Elimination Championship Match
Cruiserweight Champion Funaki vs. Paul London vs. Akio vs. Chavo Guerrero, Jr. vs. Shannon Moore vs. Spike Dudley

Rookie Diva 2005 Competition
Lauren vs. Rochelle vs. Michelle vs. Joy

Booker T vs. Heidenreich

Uh-oh. Best case scenario = the cruisers get twenty, Angle vs Cena is as good as the last time, the main event's over the top and entertaining. What is the deal with that exactly, barbed wire just at the top of the cage? So like, JBL will use the door?

I thought dragon suplexes were banned

Also, why do they try and cover up audible move calls by saying 'he's talking to himself' when 90% of the time all it does is draw attention to it when you wouldn't have noticed

I didn't see the PPV, but it sounds like the Tag Titles match was good, Angle-Cena was good, the main event was OK (with a creative finish), and the stuff that you expected would be bad turned out to be bad.

The booking in the main event makes JBL look really weak going into Mania, but I guess that's not too different from the way he's been booked throughout his title reign.

haha you have to say the finish was classic

Yeah, too many screw jobs and too much dumb luck for JBL. His promo early on was terrific though - he's done a lot of really good ones since the turn. Cena-Angle was pretty good, but not helped by being damn certain who would win it. Another very lame Heidenreich match - if he can't do better with someone like Booker (who's some way short of his best these days, but even so), I strongly suspect we'll never see him in a good match. The tag match was okay, but I still think that's an area desperately in need of some strong teams that look like they'll last more than a handful of matches - or failing that, some decent stories.

Taker vs Reigns is very poor booking, as unappetising a Taker PPV match as there has ever been, probably. They've either got to better with him, or he should bow out before he drops any further. I'd say he probably needs a move to Raw - I'd be quite pleased to see him up against Triple H again - but the last thing Smackdown needs is to lose any more of its big names.

Does anyone like the diva stuff? I assume there must be people somewhere who do. How many actual female wrestlers are there left?
