We may rightly rag on Death Valley Driver for being the rasslin equivalent of the Noize Board, but when they have a good idea, they have a fucking good idea....

What idiots.

Yeah, I'm sure Dustin/Windham vs MVC was a great match. Tomko/Xtian/Edge vs HBK/Benoit/Jericho was a pretty good match too ... hey, maybe TYSON TOMKO IS A BETTER WORKER THAN HHH TOO!!!!!!!

I kinda like how he can selectively decide when the crowd factors into a match. If Dustin is doing these great little things like well-timed comebacks, the crowd responds by going batshit/apeshit and thus validating his claim that he is working a great match. But when there's heat in Triple H's matches, well, let's pretend there ain't any. Or that it's WWE and the crowd is full of ignorants (as opposed to the enlightened NWA crowds).

I understand people who obsessively remove a match out of any outside context and rely solely on the story being told in the ring (and this is an art to be appreciated, for sure), but geez, wrestling ain't real. Jerry Lawler throws great punch, but I sure don't want to see him wrestling every Monday 'cause he tells a good story.

On a side note, WWE really dropped the ball on Dustin's last run with the Goldust/Booker T team, from the Tourette's syndrome to them failing to win the titles at the key moment to breaking the team early (though their in-ring breakup was well-done, but would've meant more if Booker T did indeed win the title from Triple H) and giving them a too-short title run. The crowd was responding and given that I have lukewarm feelings about both wrestlers, it's amazing how I was really into their tag matches.

That thread has inspired me to forlornly type 'dustin rhodes' into the Kazaa seach engine
