Rolling Post-HHH RAW Thread (May 2005)

We can only hope that he doesn't return for a while, because the show has been a lot better since he left.

STORYLINE CONTINUITY IS BACK (Chris Kreski RIP)

-- build toward a #1 contender ... people other than HHH get to acknowledge the existence of the title (which hasn't happened since New Years Revolution)

-- slow build toward a Flair face turn (finally)

-- Hassan + Daivari vs Shelton + Jericho was a fun, fast-paced match and they FINALLY put Hassan over a meaningful opponent. All four are involved in compelling storylines with each other right now, with everyone except Hassan flirting with tweener status

Chris Masters is still a douchebag, but you can't win them all.

I'm still not sure about the Big Vis "Love Machine" segments ... but at least they're not as creepy as the Lita-Kane segments from recent weeks.

Lillian + Vis was so bad, and went on and on and on with so many bad lines FOR SO DAMN LONG that the end result was sorta classic.

Stacy looks RIDICULOUS dressed as a superhero. It's like something out of a lo-budget porn movie about alien girls who eat the souls of earth men.

she can eat my soul whenever she likes to.

The Lita-Edge pairing has come to pass, as rumoured. Although JR's "THAT HARLOT!! SHE'LL PAY!!! THAT'S A MAN'S WIFE!!" rantings as they went off the air were ridiculous, but sadly, that sort of thing is par for the course these days from him. It seems a bit silly to go on about cheating wives and betrayal given the way Lita and Kane got together in the first place.

It was a really entertaining show, however.

I too found it entertaining. Apparently its getting hate on other wrestling boards which is a bit puzzling to me given the aforementioned story continuity return. Every segment of usual suck had some kind of redeeming factor this time around.
Chris Jericho's suggested heel turn should give his character a bit more complexity, he's been spinning his wheels the last year or more.

A part of me wishes that they'd use an indie wrestler to play "Matt Hardy", pulling a Becky-on-Roseanne and driving the real Matt Hardy closer to a self-inflicted shotgun blast.

Let's continue here with a summerslam anticipation thread.

Didn't anyone else think they somewhat botched the shock factor of Matt Hardy's run-in with the backstage segment when he attacks Edge and Lita shortly before they're entrance? I don't know what was gained by not having him just run in during the match.

I too thought Shawn's promo was odd. I had read at somepoint that he was hesistant to be a heel now since he's a born-again, maybe that could explain why he didn't really deliver in making his character turn.

Since my comments upthread are negative, I ought to point out that I enjoyed the show over all except the diva search crap.

I'm very curious as to where the Hardy-Edge angle is gonna go. That segment had such great energy.
